Michael Cuccione Foundation The purposes of the foundation are as follows:

1. To raise the awareness of the need to fund cancer research.

Since 1997 we have fund-raised in memory of Michael Cuccione, with all proceeds going towards the Michael Cuccione Childhood Cancer Research Program at the Child & Family Research Institute at BC Childrens Hospital Research Institute. To raise funds, receive bequests, gifts and voluntary donations of every kind and accumulate a fund, and to expend or administer this fund or the proceeds thereof, o

r the income from the fund, exclusively for cancer research and for the use of children's hospitals located in Canada and North America.

2. In order to inspire others to assist with the Foundation's cause, to conduct motivational speaking engagements at schools, at businesses, and at different levels of government.

3. To provide emotional support to cancer patients and their families.

4. To organize an annual dinner/dance, an annual golf tournament, and other varieties of events.

5. To promote all these activities throughout Canada and the world.

Solid tumours are one of the toughest challenges in childhood cancer.

Unlike blood cancers, they form as solid masses in the brain, bones, muscles, or organs — often in places that are harder for treatments and immune cells to reach.

This is why research matters so much. New approaches like CAR T-cell therapy are now being explored for solid tumours, including work happening at BC Children's Hospital — offering real hope for the future of treatment.
