Today, someone very special to the Jarod's Journey family took a brave step forward and began a treatment program!

We met this individual through outreach, and over time we've had the privilege of watching their strength, resilience, and determination shine through even during some of life's most difficult moments. While many people see addiction through the lens of stigma, judgment, or misunderstanding, we see what addiction can never take away: a person's worth, humanity, and potential.

Choosing treatment is not a sign of weakness. It is an act of incredible courage. It means facing fears, embracing change, and believing that a different future is possible. That first step can be one of the hardest steps a person will ever take.
Today, we want this friend to know how proud we are of them. But even more importantly, we are happy that they are proud of themselves.

Recovery is not about being perfect—it's about having the courage to keep moving forward, one step at a time.

To our friend: You've already shown incredible strength by making this decision. We believe in you, we are cheering you on, and we will continue to celebrate every victory along the way.

Holy Trinity Welland will be hosting a Free Rabies Vaccine Clinic for cats and dogs on June 22.

Those who pre-register will be prioritized and assigned a timeslot, so be sure to register in advance if possible.

Every dollar raised helps us continue providing essential items, support, and hope to individuals experiencing homelessness and hardship in our community.

A recent generous monetary donation allowed us to purchase 61 deodorants to help keep us stocked through the warmer months — and we are so incredibly grateful. 🧡

Items like deodorant may seem small, but they make a huge difference in helping the individuals we support feel clean, comfortable, and cared for. As temperatures rise, these items become even more important and are always one of our most requested essentials during outreach.

While this donation helped tremendously, we are always in need of deodorant donations to help us continue supporting our community. If you would like to contribute, any brand or size is greatly appreciated!

What started as a mission to honour Jarod’s legacy has grown into something built on compassion, connection, and community. Every week, we meet incredible people with unique stories, struggles, strengths, and dreams — and we’re reminded that kindness truly matters.

At Jarod’s Journey, we believe everyone deserves dignity, respect, and access to basic necessities. Whether it’s warm clothing, hygiene supplies, first-aid items, or simply a conversation and a reminder that someone cares, we are committed to showing up for our community with open hearts.

Some moments have a way of showing up exactly when they’re needed. 🧡

Earlier today, I was feeling a little discouraged after having to make an extra trip out to purchase more men’s pants because we simply didn’t have enough for outreach tonight. It was one of those reminders that the need in our community is so great, and sometimes it can feel heavy trying to keep up.

Then tonight, one of our friends gave us this beautiful keychain. This small but incredibly thoughtful gift came at exactly the right time. It was such a powerful reminder that what we do matters. Not because of the items we hand out, but because of the relationships we build.

Jarod’s Journey has always been about so much more than providing necessities. It’s about connection, trust, showing up consistently, and reminding people they are seen, valued, and cared for.

Tonight, we were reminded that those connections go both ways — and for that, we are so grateful. 🧡

As the seasons change, so does the need in our community!

Tonight at Jarod’s Journey, we went through the last of our winter clothing and are now beginning the shift into spring and summer items. While it’s always a big transition, it’s also an important one — making sure our friends have access to clothing that’s appropriate for the warmer months ahead.

With many of you starting your spring cleaning, we’d love to invite you to keep us in mind. If you come across gently used clothing you no longer need — t-shirts, shorts, light layers, socks, or shoes — they can make a meaningful difference to someone in our community.

Donations like these go directly into the hands of those who need them most, offering not just comfort, but dignity and care.

If you have items you’d like to donate, feel free to reach out — we’re always happy to arrange a pickup or coordinate a drop-off.

We hope that everyone is enjoying their Easter weekend!

This weekend, we took some time to revamp and reorganize our storage space so we can better meet the needs of our outreach moving forward. It may seem like a small thing, but having an efficient, well-stocked space makes a big difference in how we show up for our community.

With trends we discovered in the need for first-aid care, we also updated our first aid kit — making sure prepared to respond when care is needed most.

But most importantly, we spent some time doing what matters most — connecting with and feeding a few of our friends. 🧡

Progress doesn’t always look big or loud. Sometimes it’s in the behind-the-scenes work that helps us keep going, keep growing, and keep showing up.

We are so incredibly grateful for the first-aid donations that we continue to receive 🧡

These bandages, dressings, and basic wound care items may seem small, but they make a huge difference. A clean bandage, a properly covered wound, a moment of care… it can ease pain, prevent infection, and remind someone that they matter.
