Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:30-31

Here is a man who had come to a point where life was not worth living. Yet, he finds himself in the presence of two men who, even though beaten and in prison, still have joy and fulfillment. He asks them the most important question anyone can ask: "What must I do to be saved?" How wonderful it is to know that there is an answer to this question. Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. 2 Corinthians 9:15

As we contemplate remembering the sacrifice of our Lord and Saviour today, our hearts soar in praise and worship for this unspeakable gift. Unspeakable doesn’t mean that it can’t be spoken, it means that it is "indescribable," a "wonder beyond description." And it is a wonder, isn’t it? Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself and became the potential substitute for every sinner in the world for all time! He becomes our personal Saviour when we realize our own sinful
state and believe, placing our trust in Him.

The books of the Minor Prophets have valuable and relevant lessons for our day. The passage under consideration was studied on a verse-by-verse basis. The notes were prepared beforehand but left uncompleted pending the evening’s discussion. They were then amplified and enlarged by the inclusion of comments and observations made during the session.

There are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. Galatians 1:7

There are many false gospels and Paul was merciless in rejecting them. Martin Luther said, "Now the true gospel has it that we are justified by faith alone, without the deeds of the Law. The false gospel has it that we are justified by faith, but not without the deeds of the Law." The false apostles preached a conditional gospel. Thank God, Christ is enough to save the weary soul. Our works are unnecessary. Are you satisfied with Him?
