ONE PRAYER: Horn of Africa

Today, our prayers turn toward the Horn of Africa.

- Pray for peace in places experiencing conflict and uncertainty.

- Pray for people and communities facing hardship.

- Pray for followers of Jesus to be strengthened as they faithfully serve, love their neighbours and make Christ known.

- And pray that the hope of Jesus would reach people who have had little opportunity to hear the good news.

A generation here can pray for people there.

Pray for those affected by the flash flood in the northern mountains of Nepal on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. At least 160 people have died after the sudden flooding and many more are missing. OM partners are developing plans for how to help in the mountainous area. Give through omcanada.org/donate/ with a specific note "Flood in Nepal" under Gift Notes.

What are you praying for in the nations?

For people to encounter Jesus?
For local churches to grow and flourish?
For those sharing the gospel in difficult places?
For communities where the good news is rarely heard?

It can be easy for “the nations” to feel distant. Prayer makes them personal.

Over the coming weeks, we’re going to turn our attention toward five regions of the world and learn how we can pray intentionally for the people who live there.

Prayer moves our attention beyond our own lives, churches and communities. It helps us care about people we may never meet and places we may never visit. It connects us with what God is doing through His Church around the world.

We may not all go to every nation.

But we can all pray.
