Green Spaces, Great Places: Inclusive Play 🌿
Inclusive spaces matter. The wheelchair accessible swing at Poplar Hill Park allows users to enjoy the swing without leaving their wheelchair, creating a welcoming play experience for all ages and abilities.
The swing was installed thanks to a donation from the Poplar Hill & District Lions Club!

Ilderton 150 Celebrations

Saturday July 11 at 10am, the Poplar Hill & District Lions will be joining in the 150th birthday celebrations of the town of Ilderton with the Poplar Hillbillies float raising a ruckus in the parade, causing frantic scenes of singing and dancing.

Sunday July 12 at 8am, look out for our easy to see yellow food trailer where we will be cooking a hearty breakfast and more!

Lion Ian MacDonald was presented with the Melvin Jones Fellowship by Zone 5 Chair Lion Chris Christensen (Ilderton & District Lions) and our own Club President Lion Jamie. The Melvin Jones Fellowship is widely considered the highest form of recognition awarded by Lions Clubs International and the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF).

At the Poplar Hill Picnic, our President, Lion Jamie, described the activities of the intended recipient but did not mention a name and Lion Ian kept thinking, “I do those things…”
The surprise was then sprung and Lion Ian was asked me to come forward to accept the award. Lion Ian thanked those who chose him for this award.

It was awarded to Lion Ian to acknowledge exceptional humanitarian service and dedication to his community. Apart from being a Lion, amongst other volunteer roles, he works hard with the Ailsa Craig Foodbank.

The Poplar Hill & District Lions congratulate him on his well earned MJF.
