🍂 What a fantastic day of learning, connection, and collaboration!

We had such a lovely time at the Fall Algonquin College Business & Leadership Conference! From inspiring speakers and engaging workshops to meaningful networking opportunities, the day was filled with great conversations, fresh ideas, and connections.

And the conversations didn't stop when the conference wrapped up! We were delighted to keep the momentum going with a FREE Social Hour following the event.

🧠 Quieting a Busy Mind

In today’s 15-minute session, Rebecca Wilson, Executive Coach, Mindfulness Teacher, and Founder of Arborvida Conscious Leadership, shared simple ways leaders can quiet mental noise and return to the present moment.

Two key tools stood out:

🌿 1. Physical Movement — Focus on your feet planted firmly on the ground, introduce a little movement, or practice mindful breathing to bring your attention back to the present.

👂 2. A Sensory Diet — Reduce screen time, focus on one task at a time, and use sounds, breath, or other sensory cues to stay grounded in the moment.

Rebecca reminded us that creating small, intentional pauses throughout the day helps strengthen our ability to manage our thoughts and regain focus.

The more we practice using the tools, the better we become at recognizing when our minds might wander, and we will have developed the mind muscle to gently bring our attention back to the present.

✨ Sometimes, a little pause is all we need to create more space, clarity, and calm.

Session 2: How to Quiet a Busy Mind
Wednesday, October 28th | 12:00–12:15pm

One of the most common challenges modern leaders face is heavy cognitive load and the ongoing difficulty of “shutting the mind off”. In this session, we’ll explore how mental noise shows up in leadership, and some of the common ways leaders inadvertently reinforce it. We’ll practice simple ways to shift out of overthinking and back into the present moment in real time. You’ll leave with practical tools you can use throughout your day to create more mental space and clarity, at home and at work.
