Participation Nation is a program developed to compliment the physical education and health programs already offered within our province's schools.

Participation Nation creates an extra-curricular school environment based on participation and fun, above all else. The goal of Participation Nation is to get students active and involved in sports, regardless of their skill-set. It's two main programs - Primary Achievement and Pin Winners - encourage students to take part in different sports and physical activities, by rewarding them for their participation rather than their skill level. Serving students in grades 2-3 and 4-6, respectively, students are rewarded with stickers and pins for their efforts. These core programs, are complimented by 5 other physical activity programs designed to engage kids from K-12:

Play 4 Fun (K-3)
Unplugged After School Program (4-9)
Sprockids (4-6)
Outdoor Adventures (7-9)
High School Spirit (10-12)

All PN programs have a common goal to keeping students active and involved throughout their school career.

🚵 PN PURSUITS IN ACTION!

Another great example of PN Pursuits funding at work!

Memorial Academy received funding to train student leaders to deliver a Sprockids biking event. Students gained valuable new skills and had the opportunity to put them to the test out on the trails!

💡 Have an initiative at your school that could benefit from PN Pursuits funding?

PN Pursuits supports existing, non-competitive, participation-based programs that encourage junior high and high school students to get active, develop new skills and embrace healthy lifestyles.

📣 APPLY FOR PN PURSUITS FUNDING!

Our fall application deadline is Friday, November 6!

Not quite ready? Applications will continue to be accepted, with a second deadline of March 31.

One bike. One school. More opportunities to participate. 🚲

Last week, our team made the 272 km trip to Holy Cross School Complex to deliver an accessible bike purchased through the PN Pursuits Grant.

The bike will be part of the school's Sprockids program, helping create a more inclusive experience and giving more students the opportunity to get outside, get active and enjoy the ride.

This is what PN Pursuits is all about - helping SSNL member school's build on existing activities with funding for equipment, training, events and other initiatives that get students moving.

If you have an idea that fits, reach out.
