En mai 2026, IMPACT a réuni à Kinshasa 21 participants issus de ses partenaires de mise en œuvre dans le cadre d’un atelier de formation de quatre jours consacrés à l’application des solutions d’adaptation fondées sur les écosystèmes (AbE) dans le contexte de l’exploitation minière. Cette activité s’inscrit dans le projet « Favoriser la résilience », actuellement en troisième année de mise en œuvre, avec le financement de l’Ambassade de Suède à Kinshasa / Embassy of Sweden in Kinshasa

S’appuyant sur les travaux de diagnostic et de renforcement des capacités menés en 2024 et 2025, l’atelier visait à passer de la planification à la mise en œuvre en soutenant des solutions co-développées avec les communautés. Les participants ont renforcé leur compréhension des approches d’AbE liées aux enjeux environnementaux et miniers, tout en développant des compétences pratiques en matière de planification et de mise en œuvre au niveau local. La formation a également exploré la manière dont les savoirs écologiques traditionnels peuvent être intégrés dans les stratégies d’intervention afin de renforcer l’appropriation communautaire et la durabilité à long terme.

L’atelier a également permis de renforcer les compétences sur les approches en matière de gouvernance, de plaidoyer et de communication afin de soutenir une participation inclusive dans la gestion des ressources naturelles.

Des représentants d’organisations partenaires de mise en œuvre des provinces de l’Ituri, la Tshopo, du Haut-Katanga et du Lualaba ont pris part à la formation, contribuant à harmoniser les approches entre les régions et à renforcer l’impact des interventions sur le terrain.

The latest article in The Herald-Zimbabwe features Planet-GOLD Zimbabwe ’s recent technical visit to Waterwitch Mine in Bubi District, where more than 1,000 artisanal and small-scale miners supply ore and process gold.

The visit brought together officials from the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development, Zimbabwe and Environmental Management Agency to better understand current gold processing practices, identify environmental and technical challenges, and explore opportunities to introduce safer, mercury-free technologies.

At Museveni Mine in , two women work side by side to secure their families’ futures. One of them mines to support her children’s education, including a son studying outside Zimbabwe.

Their determination reflects the quiet strength of many women in artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM). Yet few women legally own the claims they work on. Male-dominated systems, limited access to information, and complex licensing procedures continue to prevent many from securing their rights.

Planet-GOLD Zimbabwe is supporting miners to formalize their ASGM operations, access financing, understand the harms of mercury, and adopt safer, mercury-free technologies. Expanding women’s access to ownership and finance is essential to building a mining sector that strengthens communities, supports families, and drives lasting progress.

Le travail des enfants dans l’exploitation minière artisanale n’existe pas en vase clos. Il est souvent enraciné dans l’insécurité vécue par les femmes et dans les failles structurelles qui rendent les familles vulnérables.

En avril, l’ITIE-RDC et IMPACT, à travers le projet Sa Sécurité financé par l’ européenne en République démocratique du Congo, ont réuni des acteurs du secteur minier artisanal à Kolwezi et Lubumbashi afin de commencer à combler ces lacunes à travers des ateliers de renforcement des capacités.

Les sessions ont porté sur le devoir de diligence, les risques liés au travail des enfants sur les sites miniers, ainsi que les normes socioculturelles et de genre qui façonnent l’expérience des femmes dans le secteur. Les participants comprenaient des coopératives, des comptoirs, des entités de traitement, des services étatiques du secteur minier, l’Administration des Mines et le SAEMAPE, tous mobilisés pour renforcer la mise en œuvre des politiques internes de devoir de diligence conformément au Guide de l’OCDE et aux directives du Ministère des Mines de la RDC.

À l’issue des ateliers, les participants sont repartis avec une meilleure compréhension des pratiques minières responsables, des approches renforcées en matière de devoir de diligence et une collaboration accrue entre les acteurs du secteur. Il s’agit d’étapes concrètes vers un secteur minier artisanal qui fonctionne pour tous, y compris les femmes et les jeunes qui en constituent la base.
