What can we build when we learn from one another?

Earlier in September, our partner, Msichana Initiative, launched the Rise Together Feminist Mentorship Series under the Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership Program in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The series creates space for feminists to connect, learn from one another, share experiences and strengthen collective leadership across generations.

Because mentorship is more than sharing knowledge. It’s about walking alongside one another, opening doors and creating space for others to flourish, strengthening the feminist movement and building a lasting collective legacy in Tanzania.

Through the Women’s Voice and Leadership Program, supported by Canada’s International Development – Global Affairs Canada we continue to support feminist leadership, intergenerational solidarity and collective movement-building.

We rise by lifting. We grow by sharing. We move forward together.

Que peut-on bâtir quand on apprend les unes des autres?

Au début de septembre, notre partenaire, Msichana Initiative, a lancé la série de mentorat féministe Rise Together dans le cadre du Programme renouvelé Voix et leadership des femmes, à Dar es Salaam, en Tanzanie.

Cette série offre aux féministes un espace pour se rencontrer, apprendre les unes des autres, partager leurs expériences et renforcer le leadership collectif d'une génération à l'autre.

Parce que le mentorat, c'est bien plus que transmettre des connaissances. C'est cheminer côte à côte, ouvrir des portes et faire de la place pour que d'autres s'épanouissent, afin de renforcer le mouvement féministe et de bâtir un héritage collectif durable en Tanzanie.

Grâce au Programme Voix et leadership des femmes, soutenu par Affaires mondiales Canada, nous continuons d'appuyer le leadership féministe, la solidarité intergénérationnelle et la mobilisation collective.

On s'élève en élevant les autres. On grandit en partageant. On avance ensemble.

Every three seconds, a girl is married before she's ready. But progress is possible: investments in education, legal reform, and social protection have helped avert an estimated 68 million child marriages over the past 25 years.

What can we achieve when Canada and Ecuador work together?

Last month, Cuso joined Cámara De Comercio Ecuatoriano Canadiense Quito for a conversation on Canada’s International Development – Global Affairs Canada Mutual Economic Partnerships approach.

Together, participants explored how trade, investment and international development can work hand in hand to create opportunities that benefit both countries, from strengthening value chains and creating employment to advancing sustainability, innovation and market access.

The conversation opened the door to new partnerships between Canadian businesses, local actors and organizations like Cuso.

Que pouvons-nous accomplir lorsque le Canada et l’Équateur travaillent ensemble?

Le mois dernier, Cuso s’est joint à la Chambre de commerce canadienne en Équateur à Quito pour une discussion sur l’approche des Partenariats économiques mutuellement avantageux de Affaires mondiales Canada.

Les personnes participantes ont exploré comment le commerce, l’investissement et le développement international peuvent agir de concert pour créer des occasions qui profitent aux deux pays — qu’il s’agisse de renforcer les chaînes de valeur, de créer des emplois ou de faire progresser la durabilité, l’innovation et l’accès aux marchés.

In a school field supported by Cuso in Benin, women learn how to create organic fertilizer to be more climate resilient, building practical skills through practice and shared knowledge.

Today is the National Day for , a day to recognize residential school Survivors, their families, their communities, and the lasting impact of Canada’s residential school system.

September 30 is also symbolizes the loss of culture, freedom, and self-esteem that many Indigenous children experienced as well as those who never returned home.

At Cuso, we are committed to taking meaningful steps towards reconciliation and learning how Cuso can best support Indigenous-led approaches and community driven change. 🧡
