Farewell and Happy Retirement, Freddy!

Freddy began his journey at The Glebe Centre as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) and quickly became a friend to many residents, staff, and families through his kindness, willingness to help, and genuine ability to connect with others.

His leadership skills and dedication were soon recognized, leading to his role as PSW Supervisor. Throughout his time with us, Freddy made a lasting impression on us all here, and we are grateful for the care, compassion, and positivity he brought every day.

As he begins this exciting new chapter, we wish him all the best in his travel adventures, playing beach volleyball, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Freddy, you will be greatly missed. On behalf of everyone at the Glebe Centre, thank you for everything. We wish you continued health, happiness, and many wonderful years of retirement ahead!

Great things are growing (and rolling) at Abbotsford at The Glebe Centre

This week, we welcomed Catherine McKenney for a visit to learn more about Growing Together, Abbotsford's free nature-based gardening program for urban seniors aged 55+.

While touring the gardens, Catherine also caught our Cycling Without Age program in action, as a volunteer prepared to take a senior out for a sunny community ride.

From planting veggies to sharing rides, wonderful things are happening here every day.

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible volunteers who support The Glebe Centre and Abbotsford Community Programs. We were so grateful to celebrate you at our Volunteer Appreciation Lunch, generously hosted by Maplewood Retirement Community, https://www.facebook.com/MaplewoodRetirement/ in their beautiful dining room and outdoor oasis.

Together, The Glebe Centre, Abbotsford Community Programs, Maplewood Retirement Community, and our dedicated volunteers are creating meaningful moments for seniors, through music, crafts, gardening, companionship, and connection.
