We may have some future boat builders on our hands! 🚤 This summer, campers put their creativity and engineering skills to the test at the Windsor Park Wading Pool. As luck would have it, our favorite spot to cool off, Windsor Park, is also a great place for experiments. The campers discovered that with a little ingenuity, a cardboard box can not only float but even support the weight of a person. 😄 Now we just need to figure out how to attach that outboard motor! 😉

It’s hard to believe we’re heading into the final week of summer camps! It has been such a fun and memorable summer, and we look forward to sharing even more of our favourite moments with you.

One of this summer’s unique additions was fishing, which gave so many campers the chance to learn new skills, explore hidden spots around the city and enjoy a whole new kind of adventure. 🎣

😊 Our Breakfast Club and After Four programs offer flexibility for parents while keeping kids engaged with fun activities. Breakfast Club also includes a nutritious breakfast.

Both programs provide a supervised walkover to Hopewell Avenue Public School, and we also welcome children who take the bus to other schools.

A couple of added perks for BC and A4 participants: free registration for our monthly Friday Night PJ Parties (advance registration required) and 50% off PD Day Camps. 🎉

Surprising twists are always part of the fun at camp! ♟️

This one started when a camper asked for a chess board during pre-care. Before long, others wanted to join in too, and what began as a casual game quickly turned into a full-blown chess tournament!

You never quite know where a camp day will take you! Apparently we need to look at adding chess camps next year.😊

Large group games are always a highlight at Firehall Camps! Last week, our camping group took on a game called Generals, where the goal was to capture the opposing team’s lion. 🦁

Each animal has its own point value, with the lion worth 50 points. The fun comes from working together: by holding hands and tagging players on the other team, animals can combine their values. For example, a horse (10 points), panther (30 points), and elephant (25 points) can team up to capture a lion. 🐴🐆🐘🦁

It’s a great way to get moving, build teamwork and strategy, and sneak a little math into the fun! Who says learning can’t be part of the game? 😄
