Canadian Propane Association L’Association canadienne du propane

Whether discussing energy, the economy or the environment, propane provides solutions to many important issues facing Canada today. As an abundantly available, low-emission, Canadian-produced energy source, propane is perfect for applications as diverse as heating commercial and residential buildings, fueling vehicles, drying crops and powering mines, among many others. While other energy options

require large-scale infrastructure spending or further technological development, propane is ready to go today.

After a wildfire, always use extreme caution when returning home.

⚠️ If your propane supply was turned off:
• Do NOT reactivate appliances yourself
• Do NOT attempt repairs or modifications
• Have your entire propane system inspected by a qualified technician first

If damage is visible, contact your propane supplier immediately.

Your safety comes first after any wildfire emergency.

Wildfires can spread rapidly through dry leaves, brush, and vegetation surrounding your home.

Help reduce the risk by regularly clearing at least a 10-foot area around:
✔️ Propane tanks
✔️ Grills
✔️ Outdoor propane equipment

Also remember:
• Keep grills and propane cylinders at least 10 feet from structures
• Never store propane cylinders indoors, garages, sheds, or tents

Small preventative steps can make a big difference during wildfire season.

Wildfires can spread quickly — and knowing what to do ahead of time can help protect your home and family.

Before an emergency happens:

• Know where your outdoor propane shut-off valve is located
• Learn how to safely shut off indoor propane appliances
• Make sure everyone in your household knows what to do in case of evacuation

If you are advised to evacuate, leave immediately and follow instructions from local authorities.

Preparation can make all the difference.
