Days like yesterday remind us why community matters. 💚 The Kidical Mass Fallingbrook community bike ride was a success and enjoyed by all!

Thank you to everyone who participated, so many conversations and stories were shared, safely cycling together, and enjoying celebratory freezees post-ride on such a beautiful and sunny day.

We are deeply grateful to Geneviève Mollema (GACA) for joining us, riding along and helping us with our first Kidical Mass event, Mathieu (CGOWCA) for joining us and riding along, and Greater Avalon Community Association - GACA, Convent Glen Orléans Wood Community Association and Chatelaine Village Community Association for including us in this project and for their generous support — it meant the world to our young association.

Thank you to Wilfrid and Ottawa Public Health for taking part in this event with us! We really appreciate it and will definitely be reaching out for future events!

Thank you to our organizing committee — Sanae Jade, Erik, Fatima and Courtney for their dedication and hard work to make this event possible, and to every volunteer who gave their time and energy to bring this event to life. We’re so proud of what we’re building together. Stay tuned for what’s next!

Fallingbrook Park Cleanup was a great success! We collected two bags worth of trash. Thank you to everyone who came out to support our community park cleanup. Your time, energy and care for our neighbourhood makes a difference .

We are so grateful to everyone who participated and popped by to chat! Beyond the bags collected, events like this help build stronger connections between neighbours and shows what we can accomplish when we work together.

FNCA’s Cleaning The Capital Spring 2026 campaign was one for the books. Between Watters Park and Fallingbrook park, we collected five full garbage bags! Thank you for making our parks more enjoyable for all.

Is your teen looking for community hours? This is a great way to get some hours in and we would happily sign their volunteer papers for school! Please email us if they'd like to participate at [email protected]

We encourage you to comment below or send us an email if you plan to attend to ensure we have enough supplies for all! Cleanup kits will include garbage bags and gloves. Please feel free to bring yard waste bags and a rake.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out for FNCA’s Park Cleanup at Watters Park today!

It was wonderful to connect with neighbours, have great conversations and come together with a shared goal of caring for and improving our community.

Together, we collected three full bags of garbage from the park. Two bags were filled piece by piece through the cleanup, and while bringing them to the drop-off location, we discovered another full bag that had been dumped in the park (third bag not shown in the image). Every bit removed helps make our shared spaces cleaner, safer, and more welcoming for everyone.

Thank you again to everyone who volunteered their time and energy today, on Mother’s Day no less, and thank you to Principal Wawryn for allowing us to use the gazebo as a meeting point and approving a garbage pick up on school property as part of the Cleaning the Capital campaign.

Community efforts like this truly make a difference and teaches the younger generations the importance of taking care of your surroundings. 🌿🧤🗑️
