Great start to a new season. We were hosted by seoplus+, shot a new campaign, got tax and SRED smart with (Peer Learning) and were blowing away by Canadian startups raising pre-seed and seed rounds.

Grateful for Access2Pay Ecosystem Informatics Inc. and Meerby Retail for sharing their venture journeys with CAN. Investment interest was kindled.

I’ve been at a CAN Member Meeting where we slipped some founders into a lightning pitch.

We do them when we have a rare window open before our monthly investor meetings.

These slots are impromptu and we use them to showcase local founders who won’t get through our selection process for a while - but who we think they should be on our member’s radar.

I recall one of our investors advising me (not the 1st time) that I had to let founders know how to network to their own advantage.

By the way - said scientific founder did attend Capital Angel Network and received significant - well north of $1M - investment from CAN Members over a couple of rounds.
