This summer, join Feed the Need in Durham and Four Farms Market Garden Training for our on-farm Growing Together workshops! Learn hands-on, practical market gardening skills & grow your knowledge of local food systems, presented by local farmers from Second Season Farm, Acre Farm, City of Greens, & Foragers Farms!

☀️ Summer On-Farm Workshops include:

🌱 Session 1: Starting the Season @ Foragers Farm (Thursday, June 18th)
Build a strong foundation for the season with practical, hands-on guidance in seed starting, transplanting, and designing a productive growing space.

🌱 Session 2: Managing the Market Garden @ City of Greens (Thursday, July 16th)
Gain practical, hands-on strategies for tackling common market garden challenges and keeping your growing space healthy, productive, and thriving all season long.

🌱 Session 3: Harvest Like a Pro @ Second Season Farm (Thursday, August 13th)
Discover how to harvest greens, roots, and herbs at their peak so you can maximize flavour, quality, and yield with confidence.

🌱 Session 4: Farm to Table Preservation @ Acre Farm (Thursday, September 17th)
Explore simple, seasonal ways to preserve the harvest through pickling, fermenting, and fresh recipes that help extend the life of local food from farm to table.

Earlier this month, a group of Durham College Alumni visited FTND to learn about local food insecurity in Durham Region, & help us pack food for our neighbours in need.

Thanks to their hard work, this awesome group sorted 4,700 lbs of food! Thank you for supporting our community!
