Important announcement: Changes to Grandview Kids' fundraising communications

With the recent announcement regarding the restructuring of fundraising at Grandview Kids, the Grandview Kids Foundation ("Foundation") has begun winding down its operations. As part of this transition, all Foundation social media accounts will be inactive starting today, February 13, 2025. Moving forward, fundraising updates and initiatives will be shared exclusively through Grandview Kids' website and social media channels.

What this means for you:

February 13, 2025: The Foundation's website and social media accounts will no longer be active. Fundraising updates will be available on Grandview Kids' website (under the "Support Us" tab) and social media pages. Additionally, the Believe by Grandview Kids Foundation e-newsletter will close. Over the next few months, the Development Department will transition to a brand-new e-newsletter to stay better connected with you!

March 1, 2025: All Foundation social media accounts will be set to private, redirecting you to Grandview Kids' pages for all fundraising news. In addition to the Foundation's social channels, the Foundation’s website will be deactivated on March 1, 2025. Development-related content is now accessible on Grandview Kids' website here: https://bit.ly/4hx84UE

In late December 2024, the Grandview Kids Foundation met with the wonderful employees of Honda Oshawa Whitby as they presented the Foundation with an incredible donation of $5,000! The Foundation was lucky enough to tour their team through our new Ajax headquarters and proudly display our brand-new Donor Wall on the first floor of The Jerry Coughlan Building.

Thanks to generous community partners in Durham Region like Honda Oshawa Whitby, the Grandview Kids Foundation can continue to support children and youth at Grandview Kids. Thank you, Honda Oshawa Whitby, for your heartfelt generosity and your eagerness to celebrate The state-of-the-art Grandview Kids - The Jerry Coughlan Building.

In December 2024, the Grandview Kids Foundation welcomed a generous $10,000 donation from the Rotary Club of Pickering during a cheque presentation. The Rotary Clubs of Durham Region have been steadfast community partners, offering ongoing support to the Foundation and the children and youth served by Grandview Kids.

To recognize this long-lasting partnership, Executive Director of the Foundation, Brigitte Tschinkel, toured the Knights through our new headquarters, proudly showing them their donor plaque on the first floor of The Jerry Coughlan Building. Since 2008, the Rotary Clubs of Durham Region have collectively contributed more than $500,000 to the Grandview Kids Foundation—an extraordinary milestone that played a vital role in the successful completion of the Foundation's $20-million Believe Campaign. Thank you, Rotary Club of Pickering for your steadfast support of the Foundation's mission and the children and youth at Grandview Kids.

The Grandview Kids Foundation has officially closed its $20-million Believe Campaign, marking a major milestone in the journey to build and support the new Grandview Kids – The Jerry Coughlan Building located at 1461 Harwood Ave. N. in Ajax.

The Foundation recognizes the contributions of seven extraordinary Believe Campaign ambassadors—Amanda, Justine, Matthew, Molly, Owen, Teagan and Timothy—who have championed the campaign since its inception. As Grandview Kids clients, they have shared their stories and advocated for the Believe Campaign, serving as a constant source of inspiration for the Foundation and Durham Region families.

During the Foundation's Grand Opening event on December 17 at Grandview Kids – The Jerry Coughlan Building, each Believe Campaign Ambassador was proudly presented with a Certificate of Completion, celebrating their remarkable contributions to the campaign.

Since 2014, when their original campaign photos were captured, these ambassadors have embodied unwavering dedication, generosity and positivity, consistently exceeding expectations. The Foundation is immensely proud of the individuals they have become and looks forward to supporting their future successes.

As a testament to their growth, each ambassador's original 2014 photo is included in this post.

The Believe Campaign began quietly in 2008 and was publicly launched in 2018, concluding in December 2024 with support from more than 300 donors. The Grandview Kids Foundation extends its gratitude to generous donors, volunteers, Team Grandview, Believe Campaign ambassadors and residents of Durham Region for their role in this historic accomplishment. The campaign’s success would not have been possible without their unwavering support.

As its next chapter begins, the Foundation is confident that the Believe Campaign will forever serve as a testament to the extraordinary accomplishments that become possible when we choose to believe.

The 29th Annual Golf Fore Grandview Kids Charity Golf Classic is BACK for another year of excitement on the course!

We are incredibly excited to return our golf tournament to the early days of summer, where a spark of hope for the bright days ahead lights this incredible event aflame. This one-day event is filled with laughter, joy, camaraderie and, most importantly, FUN! It is an excellent source of happiness for many of our Grandview Kids staff and family members each year, and we could not be more excited to see everyone’s smiling faces again.

On December 17, Grandview Kids Foundation welcomed over 150 donors and community partners to its new, state-of-the-art headquarters, Grandview Kids – The Jerry Coughlan Building in Ajax. This exclusive Grand Opening event marked the official closure of the Foundation’s ambitious $20-million Believe Campaign and the celebration of the remarkable generosity of the Foundation's donors.

The celebration included the unveiling of a brand-new Donor Wall, recognizing 170 generous donors whose support brought the campaign to its remarkable conclusion. Attendees also included representatives from Durham Radio and all seven of the Foundation's Believe Campaign Ambassadors and their families, adding to the event’s success.

Guests toured The Jerry Coughlan Building, witnessing firsthand the transformative impact of their generosity on the lives of Grandview Kids' children and youth.

❣️ A new fundraiser is happening in our community supporting the Grandview Kids Foundation!

On Saturday, February 1, 2025, the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Women's League are hosting a Share the Love: Dinner and Dance at St. Mary's of the People Parish in Oshawa, located at 570 Marion Ave, Oshawa. This evening event will directly support the Grandview Kids Foundation!

Tickets for Share the Love are $75 a person and can be purchased by calling 905-999-0639 or 905-431-5568. Cocktails are available starting at 6:00, and dinner will be served at 7:00 with music from special guest Joe Collura! Additionally, the event will hold a silent auction along with a 50/50 draw.
