🚨Very exciting news! MOH Expanding Scope of Practice for Denturists

The Minister of Health has directed Ontario’s regulatory health college for Denturists to begin work needed to support further expansions of their scopes of practice, as follows:

✅Denturists can order and apply x-rays, operate an x-ray machine and be designated as Radiation Protection Officers.
✅Denturists can insert and retain implant-supported dentures and related implant components.

Anas Al Halabi, DD( DAO President), was extremely pleased with this outcome and this morning's announcement:
"We welcome the Minister of Health’s announcement and the directive to the regulatory college as a significant step toward modernizing the Denturist’s scope of practice. This initiative reflects a thoughtful and evidence-informed approach to strengthening the healthcare system and improving timely access to care. As the DAO, we are committed to collaborative, team-based leadership that advances shared priorities. We look forward to working alongside healthcare and regulatory partners throughout this process to help ensure accessible care for Ontarians."

When asked for a statement regarding this landmark change for Denturists, Anas stated: "There is no extraordinary luck and no hidden secret behind success. There is a clear pattern: a burning passion, a defined purpose, a courageous decision, and unwavering perseverance. So, let us ask ourselves: Is the way we think today building a brighter future, or merely justifying our staying where we are?"
