ICD Heros come in all sizes!

Our Dia-Bestie Austin decided to run a lemonade stand and raised $200 for I Challenge Diabetes.

That is one sweet way to support the T1D community. Thank you, Austin, for helping make a difference. You’re the zest! 🍋

Vancouver Week 2 may be over, but Arev is already looking forward to seeing what these campers accomplish next. 💙

“I can’t believe camp is over already! It’s been a great week and we have some amazing kids out here. I can’t wait to see what they’re capable of when it comes to managing their diabetes in the future.”

Thank you to our incredible staff, volunteers, and sponsors for making Vancouver Week 2 so special.

We were SO excited to have Keily and Ally join us at Sugar Valley Camp to test out their new product, The Beacon, created by . The Beacon is a device that pairs with your sensor to provide blood glucose alerts without the need for a phone or monitor. Our campers had the opportunity to try out the product and share their feedback during these early stages of development. We hope to see even more creative innovations like this in the future!”

One of Sierra’s favourite things to see at Calgary Camp is campers learning from each other.

“Watching campers share their own tips and tricks with each other is one of my favourite parts of camp. Whether they’re talking about managing their blood sugars or just sharing what works for them, it’s amazing to see how much they can learn from one another.”

Sometimes the best advice comes from someone who just gets it. 💙

Thank you to our incredible staff, volunteers, and sponsors for making Calgary Camp possible.

One of Emily’s favourite parts of coming back to Hamilton Camp was reconnecting with familiar faces while welcoming new campers into the community.

“Coming back to camp this year was busy and hectic, but so much fun! I had such a blast reconnecting with campers I met last year and getting to know all the new campers too. It was so special to see some familiar faces and make new memories together.”

There’s something so special about coming back to camp and seeing familiar faces year after year. 💙

Thank you to our incredible staff, volunteers, and sponsors for making Hamilton Camp possible.

Special thanks to:

City of Hamilton , ivari , Jays Care Foundation , The Toronto Star Children's Charities , MiniMed Canada , and Abbott

🎟TICKET GIVEAWAY!🎟

We’re giving away four General Admission - Good Any Day tickets to the 2026 Rogers Charity Classic at Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club in Calgary! ⛳

Want to enter? Simply reply to this post with something you love about I Challenge Diabetes for your chance to win! 💙

These tickets are made possible through our incredible partnership with Rogers Charity Classic Birdies for Kids.

In 2024, I Challenge Diabetes proudly joined the Rogers Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink program. That year, we delivered a variety of programs across Alberta, including three day camps for children and youth living with Type 1 diabetes.

Thanks to the incredible support of the Birdies for Kids program, we’ve been able to more than double the number of camps we offer!

In 2025, we provided 7 day camps for children and youth living with Type 1 diabetes - creating more opportunities for connection, confidence, learning, and, most importantly, fun!

We’re so grateful to our amazing supporters for helping us reach even more young people living with Type 1 diabetes.

Good luck, and tell us what you love about I Challenge Diabetes!

Switching from Ontario to BC gave Arev a new perspective on just how connected the T1D community really is.

“Switching from the Ontario team to the West camp team has been crazy, but not in the way you’d think. The environment is completely different, and the kids have such different personalities and experiences to share. But when it comes to diabetes, everything is almost exactly the same. It’s interesting how you can go from one place to another and still have so much in common when it comes to diabetes. It really shows that no one is alone in this.”

A new camp, a new group of campers, but so many shared experiences. 💙

Thank you to our incredible staff, volunteers, and sponsors for making Vancouver Week 1 possible.

Sensor falls off during a rock climb? No problem when your friends are this prepared to support you!

During Sugar Valley Climbing Camp last week, Declan’s sensor came off while he was climbing, but luckily, his friend was ready to help. Declan had everything he needed for camp and was more than willing to lend his finger poker when it was needed.

Well done, Declan, for showing up for your friend! 💙

Thank you to our incredible staff, volunteers, and sponsors for making Sugar Valley Climbing Camp possible.
