🚨 WE NEED YOU! 🚨

This weekend, our centre and our amazing volunteers will be manning the canteen at Thunder in the Valley! 🏁🌭

If you’ve never been to Thunder in the Valley before, it’s definitely something to add to your weekend plans — especially if you have a little one who loves vehicles, mud, racing and LOTS of action! 🚜🏎️💨

We’re looking for some extra helping hands to make the weekend a success! Whether you can spare a few hours to help serve food, take orders, handle the canteen or lend a hand with setup/cleanup, we would be so grateful to have you! ❤️

Not only is it a fun weekend, but volunteering helps support our centre and the big things we’re working toward for our kiddos. 🥰

We hope everyone is having a wonderful truth and reconciliation day, we rocked our orange shirts yesterday as we are closed today but it’s a conversation that we need to be having everyday and at age appropriate levels! Want to start a conversation with your little one? Grab one of these books!

Our favourite spots outside right now! 🌳🍂🐿️

We’ve been spending lots of time exploring, playing, and enjoying everything our outdoor space has to offer. One of our favourite visitors lately has been our little squirrel friend, who stops by every day to steal walnuts from our trees! 🐿️😂

The children love watching for him and seeing what he gets up to each day. It’s the little moments like these that make outdoor play so special! 🤎🍁

📣 We’re looking for new Board Members!
Dare to Dream Children’s Centre, located in New Minas, is looking to welcome two new members to our Board of Directors!

If you’ve been looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community and volunteer your time alongside a group of caring individuals who are passionate about supporting local children and families, this could be a great opportunity for you.
We would especially love to hear from individuals with experience or a background in:
• Legal
• Human Resources
• Not-for-Profit Organizations
• Logistics & Operations
• Childcare / Early Childhood Education

Our Board meets once a month, with additional involvement as needed for events, projects, and initiatives throughout the year.

You don’t need to be a parent at the centre to get involved — we’re looking for people who care about their community and are interested in using their experience and skills to help support the continued growth and success of Dare to Dream.

🥉 We are so grateful to share that Dare to Dream Childrens Society received Bronze in Childcare Services in the 2026 Annapolis Valley CommunityVotes awards!

Having been open for only six months, we feel incredibly honoured to receive this recognition. We are thankful for our dedicated team, the families who have placed their trust in us, and everyone in our community who voted and supported us.

Thank you for helping make our first six months so special. We look forward to continuing to learn, grow, and provide a caring place for the children and families we serve. 💜

🌞 Dare to Dream is looking for outdoor toys! 🌳🛝

As we get ready for lots of outdoor fun, we’re looking to add some new-to-us outdoor toys and play equipment for the children at Dare to Dream! 💚
If you have any gently used outdoor toys sitting around that your family no longer uses, we would be so grateful if you would consider donating them to us. Things like ride-on toys, outdoor cars, balls, water tables, sand toys, playhouses, Little Tikes-style equipment, and other outdoor play items would be greatly appreciated! 🏀🚗🪣
