If you met Amanda today, you’d see a strong, active athlete and nursing student with a bright future ahead of her.

What you might not see are the years she spent struggling with alcohol addiction or the long, difficult road she and her family travelled navigating to find the help she needed.

With your support, this treatment centre will give more families, more mom's like Julie the chance for their loved ones to reach the other side of addiction and the hope that recovery is possible.

Watch below and please learn more about how you can help this project reach the finish line.

One year ago today, the doors officially opened to the High Acuity Unit within the Windsor Plywood Foundation Critical Care Building at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.

What was once a vision shared by healthcare professionals, donors, community partners and advocates is now a place where lives are being changed every day.

From providing specialized critical care to supporting patients and families through some of life's most challenging moments, this building stands as a lasting reminder of what is possible when a community comes together.

To every donor, volunteer, healthcare worker, partner and advocate who helped make this project a reality, thank you. Your generosity continues to make an impact every single day.

Here's to one year of caring for our community and to the many lives that will be touched for generations to come.

Another project fully funded for Oceanside Health Centre!

Thanks to the generosity of our community, $72,000+ was raised to fund three new cardiac monitors for Oceanside Health Centre. These monitors provide healthcare teams with real-time information to help assess, stabilize and respond quickly when patients arrive with serious symptoms.

Funds raised through the 2025 Qualicum Beach Social helped support the purchase of these cardiac monitors, as well as the recently completed vital signs monitors project at Oceanside Health Centre.

It’s another incredible example of local generosity making a direct impact on healthcare in the Oceanside community.

To everyone who helped make these projects possible, thank you for being our partners in care.

Right now, people on Vancouver Island who need addiction treatment often have nowhere close to turn. Many have to leave their home communities or the Island entirely, just to get help.

Your help will change that.

We are supporting the completion of the first abstinence based public addiction treatment centre in our region.

The faces of addiction aren't what you think. These are not strangers, these are our neighbours, co-workers, family and friends. Your generosity is becoming a reality at NRGH.

More than 1,400 donors came together to fund the new SPECT/CT, and we’re excited to bring you behind the scenes as the space takes shape.

Right now, crews are installing the specialized lead lining required for the new imaging suite, with significant work on the electrical, plumbing and ventilation systems already underway.

There’s still more to come before the scanner is ready to welcome its first patients, and we’ll continue to bring you along for the journey.

To everyone who helped make the new SPECT/CT possible, thank you. We can’t wait for you to see what comes next.
