Every so often, a gift arrives that reminds us what care for community can look like.
Recently, NDHF received an extraordinary estate gift that will help support healthcare for years to come.

As the realtor team facilitating the estate sale, we had the opportunity to support carrying this gift forward. We chose to donate our realtor fees back to NDHF because we believe deeply in the work this Foundation is doing for healthcare in our community, and partnership through Cody’s role as NDHF board member.
When we have the chance to help strengthen healthcare in our region in whatever way we can, it matters.

This gift will help us keep building toward practical solutions for healthcare recruitment and housing — the kinds of supports that make it possible for more healthcare workers to come here, stay here, and care for the people who call this place home. Stay tuned for more details on this.

If you are considering a gift that can turn capital into healthcare for future generations, contact our team today.

Every new healthcare professional in Central & North Vancouver Island has a story, and so does the work behind bringing them here.

Barney recently sat down with Tod Maffin and Jocelyn Maffin to discuss the healthcare recruitment movement in Nanaimo and how with your help we are drawing healthcare professionals to our region.

Through efforts like Nanaimo Infusion and the support of this community, more healthcare professionals are choosing Nanaimo.

This is how care grows.

There is more to do.

Some people make a difference in ways that cannot always be measured.

At the Cancer Clinic within NRGH, Megan Hamblin brings compassion, comfort, and positivity to patients navigating some of the hardest moments of their lives. From offering reassurance during treatment to simply making someone feel seen, her impact reaches far beyond healthcare.

This month's Healthcare Spotlight shares the story of an Oncology Nurse whose care reminds us that healing is about more than medicine. It is about connection, kindness, and showing up for people when they need it most.
