It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Lieutenant (Navy) David "Dave" Grant on July 16, 2026, while serving as the Information Technology Officer for the summer at HMCS Quadra Cadets / Cadets de NCSM Quadra .

Dave touched the lives of countless members of the QUADRA community. As a dedicated naval officer, active Quadra Alumni Association member, board director, webmaster, and contributor to the Information and Communications Management Committee, he generously shared his knowledge, leadership, and enthusiasm for decades. His naval wisdom, commitment to service, and positive spirit made a lasting impact on all who knew him.

We will miss him dearly.

With the approval of his wife, Carolyn, and the support of the Quadra Education Foundation Board of Directors, the David J. Grant Memorial Scholarship has been established in his honour.

This scholarship recognizes Dave's lifelong commitment to the HMCS QUADRA Cadet Training Centre community by supporting cadets, officers, adult staff, and alumni pursuing higher education.

Your gift will help honour the memory of Dave Grant, a proud Royal Canadian Navy veteran, cadet officer, alumni member, leader, mentor, and friend.
