The Centre for Gender Advocacy is an independent, student-funded, Concordia University organization, mandated to promoting gender equality and empowerment.

The activities of the Centre for Gender Advocacy fall into two broad categories. The first consists of services and resources offered free of charge to the Concordia and greater Montreal community in the form of Peer Support and Advocacy, safer s*x resources and trans health resources such as the Binder Program. The second is composed of campaigns and programming. There are campaigns to demand jus

tice for the many indigenous women who are murdered or go missing each year in Canada, to advocate for improved access to reproductive health services, trans health resources, and A Safer Concordia. We also host numerous film screenings, presentations and workshop series throughout the year, so be sure to check for event updates on our website, sign up for our mailing list, like us on facebook, or follow us on twitter to keep up with the latest developments. Whether you’re looking for a supportive peer to talk to, interested in volunteer opportunities, or just want to come by for a visit, the Centre for Gender Advocacy is here for you!

The Board of Directors is a vital role that sustains the Centre for Gender Advocacy. As a board member you will have a direct role in the ongoing functioning of the Centre, the programs we offer, and many opportunities to expand your experience in policy writing, leadership and community governance.

It’s that time again - The Centre’s AGM!

Our AGM will be happening ONLINE this year on Zoom. We’d love to see you all there!

There will be raffles, lots of voting (including the nomination of our new Board of Directors), and everyone’s favourite: financial reports!
Not sure if you’re a member? If you’re a Concordia student who did NOT opt out of our fee-levy, or you have volunteered 4 hours of your time to the Centre over the last year (12 months), you are an official voting member! Community members also welcome — even if you can’t vote.

Cette année, notre assemblée générale annuelle se tiendra en ligne sur Zoom. Nous espérons vous y voir nombreux !

Au programme : tirages au sort, votes (dont l’élection de notre nouveau conseil d’administration) et, bien sûr, la présentation des rapports financiers !

Vous vous demandez si vous êtes membre ? Si vous êtes étudiant(e) à Concordia et que vous n’avez pas refusé de payer les frais de scolarité, ou si vous avez donné 4 heures de votre temps au Centre au cours des 12 derniers mois, vous êtes membre votant ! Les membres de la communauté sont également les bienvenus, même s’ils ne peuvent pas voter.

ANNOUNCEMENT: It’s been a huge year for all of us at the CGA with huge centre changing events and we’re gearing up to implement some incredible programs and new ways of doing for you this year.

To give the team a chance to rest and prepare for everything that is to come we have elected to take a modest break.
