👣 Nature Saint John is hosting the last Wander & Walk of 2026!

"Join us for a slow and curious walk around Little River Reservoir, following the main loop trail through the mix of open water, forest, streams and wetlands that make this such an interesting spot for wildlife.

We’ll keep our eyes and ears open for ducks and other waterfowl, songbirds, insects, plants and other signs of wildlife as we make our way around the reservoir.

The loop is wide, relatively flat and easy-going, making it a great place to slow down and notice what’s around us rather than simply walking from one end to the other. "

👣 Saint Nom la Nature dernière sortie « Wander & Walk » de 2026 !

« Rejoignez-nous pour une balade tranquille et pleine de découvertes autour du réservoir de Little River. Nous emprunterons le sentier en boucle principal qui traverse une alternance de plans d’eau, de forêts, de ruisseaux et de zones humides, ce qui fait de cet endroit un lieu particulièrement intéressant pour observer la faune.

Tout au long de notre parcours autour du réservoir, nous garderons les yeux et les oreilles grands ouverts pour repérer des canards et autres oiseaux aquatiques, des oiseaux chanteurs, des insectes, des plantes et d’autres traces de la faune.

Le circuit est large, relativement plat et agréable à parcourir, ce qui en fait un endroit idéal pour ralentir le rythme et prendre le temps d’observer ce qui nous entoure, plutôt que de simplement marcher d’un bout à l’autre. »

Thank you to those who joined us on Monday for the third site visit!

The group was guided by Ash Arrowsmith, Community Recreation Coordinator for the Town of Riverview, who walked the beautiful natural surface trails to visit the new natural storm water retention pond, a set of composting toilets, and a breath-taking view of the water reservoir and historical dam.

Natural assets, such as this 300-acre park, are important to safeguard—not just for our heritage and well-being of our planet and its inhabitants, but also for fostering sustainable urban development, integrating natural infrastructure into public greenspaces.

Le groupe était guidé par Ash Arrowsmith, coordonnateur des loisirs communautaires de la ville de Riverview; ils ont emprunté les magnifiques sentiers en revêtement naturel pour découvrir le nouveau bassin naturel de rétention des eaux pluviales, des toilettes à compostage ainsi qu'un point de vue imprenable sur le réservoir d'eau et le barrage historique.

Il est important de préserver les atouts naturels, tels que ce parc de 300 acres, non seulement pour notre patrimoine et le bien-être de la planète et de ses habitants, mais aussi pour favoriser un développement urbain durable, intégrant des infrastructures naturelles dans les espaces verts publics.
