We were busy behind the scenes today! From setting up interactive exhibits to adding those little details that make the space feel warm and welcoming, everything is coming together!

A huge shoutout to our wonderful event partner, Place Resurgo Place , for generously sharing their beautiful space with us and helping make this celebration possible! ❤️

Faits sur les réfugiés no 9 : Pourquoi l’accueil des personnes réfugiées est-il important?

Chaque histoire de réfugié commence par une personne en quête de sécurité.
Ce qui suit est souvent une histoire de résilience, de détermination et de contribution.

Partout au Canada, des personnes réfugiées travaillent dans des secteurs essentiels, lancent des entreprises, paient des impôts, font du bénévolat, élèvent leur famille et contribuent à bâtir des communautés plus fortes.

3 days until we celebrate a decade of hope! 🧡

Ten years ago, NBRC started with a simple belief: everyone deserves to be heard. Today, we’ve reached this milestone because of teamwork, hard work and a community that never stopped showing up for us.

Our staff, volunteers, board, partners, supporters and the people we have the privilege to serve are all part of this story.

Thank you for being part of our first ten years. We can’t wait to celebrate with you on November 3. 🎉

Il y a dix ans, la CRNB est née d’une conviction toute simple : chaque personne mérite d’être entendue. Aujourd’hui, nous atteignons ce jalon grâce au travail d’équipe, à l’ardeur de chacun·e et à une communauté qui n’a jamais cessé d’être présente pour nous.

Notre équipe, nos bénévoles, notre conseil d’administration, nos partenaires, les personnes qui nous appuient et celles que nous avons le privilège d’accompagner font toutes partie de cette histoire.

Merci de faire partie de nos dix premières années. Nous avons hâte de célébrer avec vous le 3 novembre. 🎉

🌟 Une autre belle victoire pour la Clinique des réfugiés du Nouveau-Brunswick cette semaine !

Nous célébrons une nouvelle décision favorable concernant une demande d’asile présentée par une cliente accompagnée par la Clinique des réfugiés du Nouveau-Brunswick !

Notre cliente a été contrainte de fuir son pays d’origine après avoir subi de la violence conjugale. Malgré ses efforts pour échapper à cette situation, son ancien partenaire continuait de la retrouver, ne lui laissant aucun endroit où elle pouvait se sentir en sécurité.

Nous sommes extrêmement heureux qu’elle ait maintenant reçu une décision favorable de la Commission de l’immigration et du statut de réfugié du Canada (CISR), lui permettant ainsi de se rapprocher d’une nouvelle vie dans la sécurité et la dignité. 💙

👏 Un grand bravo à deux membres formidables de notre équipe :
Djovelie Augustin, qui a travaillé à la préparation et à la soumission de la documentation de la demande d’asile de notre cliente, et Moctar Diallo, qui l’a représentée lors de son audience devant la CISR.

Nous sommes très fiers de ce travail d’équipe et du dévouement dont nos collègues font preuve dans chaque dossier !

Derrière chaque décision favorable, il y a une vie qui change et la possibilité d’un avenir plus sûr. 💙

🌟 Another win for the NBRC this week!

We are celebrating another positive refugee claim decision for a client supported by the New Brunswick Refugee Clinic!

Our client was forced to flee her country of origin after experiencing domestic violence. Despite her efforts to escape the abuse, her former partner continued to find her, leaving her without a safe place to turn.

We are incredibly happy that she has now received a positive decision from the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB), bringing her one step closer to rebuilding her life in safety and dignity. 💙

👏 A special shout-out to our amazing team members:
Djovelie Augustin, who worked on preparing and submitting the documentation in support of our client’s refugee claim, and Moctar Diallo, who represented her at her IRB hearing.

We are so proud of this team effort and the dedication that goes into every case!
Behind every positive decision is a life changed and a chance for a safer future. 💙

We are thrilled to be among the 2026 recipients of the Gender-Based Violence Action Fund! 💜

This funding is especially meaningful to us, as we recognize the additional challenges that refugee claimants and people making humanitarian-based immigration applications may face when experiencing gender-based violence.

Through this project, we will strengthen our ability to provide safe, compassionate, and trauma-informed support to our clients.

Thank you to the Government of New Brunswick for supporting this important work, and congratulations to all the other recipients! 💜

Nous sommes ravis de faire partie des organismes retenus en 2026 dans le cadre du Fonds d’action contre la violence fondée sur le genre! 💜

Ce financement est particulièrement important pour nous, car nous savons que les demandeurs d’asile et les personnes qui présentent des demandes d’immigration pour des motifs humanitaires peuvent faire face à des difficultés supplémentaires lorsqu’ils vivent des situations de violence fondée sur le genre.

Grâce à ce projet, nous renforcerons notre capacité à offrir à nos clients un soutien sécuritaire, bienveillant et adapté aux traumatismes.

Congratulations to MAGMA - AMGM on a successful 40th Annual General Meeting!

It was a pleasure for the New Brunswick Refugee Clinic to join today’s celebration and recognize MAGMA’s incredible work supporting newcomers in our community. We were especially pleased to learn that MAGMA provided services to 157 refugee claimants over the past year!

We also enjoyed the thoughtful panel discussion on immigration as a driver of economic growth, highlighting the valuable contributions immigrants make to our local economy and the importance of welcoming and supporting newcomers.

And a special shoutout to Sistema New Brunswick - Sistema Nouveau-Brunswick for their wonderful musical performance! 🎶 Definitely one of the highlights of the event!

Ce fut un plaisir pour la Clinique de réfugiés du Nouveau-Brunswick de participer à cet événement et de souligner le travail remarquable de MAGMA auprès des nouveaux arrivants de notre communauté. Nous avons été particulièrement heureux d’apprendre que MAGMA a offert des services à 157 demandeurs d’asile au cours de la dernière année !

Nous avons également beaucoup apprécié la discussion enrichissante sur le rôle de l’immigration comme moteur de croissance économique. Elle a mis en lumière les précieuses contributions des personnes immigrantes à notre économie locale et l’importance de bien accueillir et soutenir les nouveaux arrivants.

Do you remember the family who lost their home and belongings in a devastating fire in Dieppe this past July?

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, the donations raised through the GoFundMe campaign we organized, and the furniture and household items generously donated by so many people, the family has been able to rebuild their lives. They are now settled into a new apartment and have everything they need to make it feel like home. ❤️

And today, we have even more wonderful news to share!
Last week, the family had their refugee hearing before the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB), and they received a positive decision on their refugee claim! 🎉

After everything they have been through, witnessing their relief turn into joy was an incredibly moving experience. Hearing them already making plans for their future reminded us just how much this decision means. After so much uncertainty and hardship, they can finally look ahead with greater safety, stability, and hope.

A special thank you to our Case Coordinator, Ana Santana, who worked closely with the family, prepared their submissions, and helped them get ready for the hearing. Ana, your dedication, compassion, and hard work have made a real difference in this family's life! ❤️

And to everyone who supported this family after the fire, whether through financial contributions, donations of household essentials, or simply spreading the word: thank you!

These are the moments that remind us why our work matters so much. When access to justice and community support come together, they can truly change lives.
