What a wonderful afternoon of reflection, gratitude and celebration at the Huronia Community Foundation’s Annual Report to the Community and ED Retirement Celebration yesterday!

The 2025–26 fiscal year was an impressive one for HCF — and that success is thanks to the generosity and commitment of our donors, fund sponsors, volunteers, community partners, board and staff.

This generosity makes it possible for HCF to support people, programs and services across North Simcoe. Together, we are helping strengthen our communities and create meaningful impact where it is needed most.

We were also pleased to welcome two inspiring guest speakers, Natasha Thuemler of Indwell and Jennifer Foulds of London Community Foundation, who shared their perspectives on philanthropy and partnerships to support affordable housing, social programs and health initiatives. Their insights reinforced an important message: complex community challenges require organizations, funders, governments and community members to work together and have a shared vision.

And, of course, the afternoon was also a special opportunity to celebrate Scott Warnock and his retirement as Executive Director after seven years with HCF. Scott has built lasting relationships with donors, fund sponsors and charitable partners and has been an incredible resource and advocate for our Foundation and our communities. We will certainly miss him — although we know he is still willing to do some volunteer support.

Thank you to the standing room crowd of almost 100, to the Midland Public Library for hosting us, to our volunteers who helped organize the event, and to our speakers, community partners, staff, board members and supporters.

But most of all — thank you, donors. This year’s story is your story, too. 💙

Together, we are growing a stronger future for North Simcoe.
