North East Outreach & Support Services An Organization with Heart - Healing, Empowerment, Advocacy, Respect and Transparency

NEOSS provides a 24-hour Shelter Line, Domestic Violence Shelter, Emergency Receiving Home, Personal Violence Counselling, Nipawin FIRST, Melfort Youth Evolution. North East Outreach and Support Services is a community-based, non-profit registered charity. Community services are delivered with funds obtained from government grants, fundraising, and community donations. The agency is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and managed by an Executive Director. North East Outreach and Support Services, initially named the Melfort Sexual Assault Centre, was born in 1984 due to the efforts of several concerned community members in response to the need for support services for victims of sexual assault. Soon, NEOSS began receiving many calls for support from victims of domestic violence, so the agency broadened its focus and expanded its programs to meet the needs of victims of all forms of interpersonal violence.

🎄✨ The Christmas season is upon us — and with it comes the chance to spread kindness, warmth, and hope. ✨🎄
NEOSS is excited to kick off this year’s Adopt a Family program — an annual initiative that brings holiday cheer to families who are experiencing hardship and interpersonal violence.
Many families dream of a simple, joyful Christmas — and you can help make that wish come true. 💖
Here’s how it works:
1. Reach out to Tracey Zwozdesky @ [email protected]
to receive your application form.
2. Fill it out and return it to Tracey.
3. You’ll be matched with a local family in need, based on the information you provide.
4. Once matched, you’ll receive general details about the family as well as their wish lists — then you shop for gifts and essentials to help brighten their holiday season.
5. Deliver your unwrapped gifts to North East Outreach & Support Services, and our team will ensure they are safely delivered to the family.
By adopting a family this year, you're doing more than just giving presents — you're sharing compassion, dignity, and hope.
Let’s come together to make the season brighter — one family at a time. 🌟

This is my story. Gaslighting happens. You question what you know, you question what you believe, you question your life. We all know what is true and what we believe. Don’t let some tell you what you should believe. What you know. If I would have listened to my abuser in 2016. I sure wouldn’t be where I am today. There is help. NEOSS is a place to start. 306-752-9455 is the number you can call 24 hours a day. A qualified staff will be able to help. You are strong, you can do this! We can help!

Linda Grant and Colleen MacDonald from Choiceland Canada Royal Purple delivered
40 purple drawstring backpack sacks filled with personal essential needs for the Women living at our NEOSS Shelter. Some of the 40 sacks had items dedicated to children, including a stuffed toy. In addition to the filled sacks, diapers, feminine napkins, t-shirts and some stationery items were donated.

This is an annual project by the Choiceland Canada Royal Purple to donate and contribute to the support of our community members. They received donated items from several businesses, service clubs and individuals from the Choiceland and Nipawin areas. They had a wonderful response to this community outreach project.

In addition, the mayor of Choiceland, Rob Mardell, proclaimed October 12 – 18, 2026, Purple Thursday week in Choiceland. Choiceland is lighting their town purple for Purple Thursday. On Purple Thursday, October 15, 2026, the purple sacks were delivered to our NEOSS administration building.
