Serving Southern Alberta since 2007, HALO Air Ambulance is "in flight for your life". Helicopter Air Lift Operation or H.A.L.O. VOLUNTEERS ARE WELCOME.

The HALO Air Ambulance Society (formerly; Southern Alberta MedicAir Society) was formed to raise funds for and promote air ambulance medevac programs. The Society is registered as a charitable society with both the Federal and Alberta Governments. Our priority is to fund and sustain a dedicated air ambulance and rescue helicopter for this area. (HALO) began operations on July 4, 2007. HALO has been dispatched in excess of 900 times since inception. HALO was used extensively during the Irvine, Alberta flood in June of 2010, assisting with the dramatic rescue of three people. Our volunteer board consists of healthcare and aviation professionals, as well as members from across the community. Please call 403-528-9088.

We had the pleasure of welcoming a couple of groups of paramedic students from Medicine Hat College to the HALO hangar this week.

Students had the opportunity to learn more about where their education can take them, including a career pathway in air medical transport.

We loved sharing a glimpse into the world of HALO and connecting with the next generation of paramedics who will help care for our communities.
