A special time together! 💙

Our volunteers have been spending time at the CCN Centers, joining activities, playing games, and enjoying the company of the children.

Along the way, they’re also helping with repairs and improvements at the centers.

It’s been a great few days of connecting, sharing, and making a difference together.

There’s nothing like seeing volunteers and children sharing time, playing, laughing, and simply enjoying being together! 🥹

These moments are a reminder that connection can be just as meaningful as any activity. We’re grateful to our volunteers for bringing their energy, enthusiasm, and time to the children at the Kality CCN Center.

Supporting a child also means supporting the family around them. 💙

At Real Humanitarian, our programs focus on the well-being of each child, but we know that having a strong support system at home is just as important.

That’s why we work with families to provide the support they need, from entrepreneurship training and health programs to income projects, psychological support, home visits, and, when needed, food hampers.

Many of the children in our programs are orphans and live with a grandparent, aunt, uncle, older sibling, or another caregiver.

Our social work teams visit families every month to stay connected, understand their needs, and make sure they have the support they need.

Real Humanitarian is currently building a new trade school in a rural community in Ethiopia, with construction continuing through the remainder of 2026 and into early 2027.

The new school will create opportunities for young adults to gain practical, hands-on skills that can help them find employment, start a business, and build a more sustainable future for themselves and their families.

Through our more than 15-year partnership with Support Street Children and Mothers (SSCM), students can train in trades such as tailoring, furniture-making, barbering, hairdressing, manicures, and pedicures. They also receive business and personal finance training to help turn those skills into opportunities.

We can’t wait to see this new school come to life!

🤝 Friendship creates connections that help children learn, grow, and feel supported.

On International Day of Friendship, we are reminded that friendship can build bridges between people, encourage understanding, and create stronger communities.

At Real Humanitarian’s Child Centered Network (CCN) centers, children build friendships every day while learning, participating in activities, and supporting one another. These relationships help create a sense of belonging and remind students that they are part of a caring community.

The United Nations established the International Day of Friendship to promote peace, understanding, and connections between people, cultures, and communities.
Through friendship, we can create a world where children feel valued, supported, and empowered to reach their potential. 💙

📸 Throwback to our Real Humanitarian expeditions to Ethiopia!

Each year, participants have the opportunity to visit the communities where we work, learn more about our programs, and connect with the children, families, and local staff who make our work possible.

Over the years, these journeys have created countless meaningful moments and lasting memories. From visiting our centers to learning directly from the communities we partner with, each expedition offers a deeper understanding of the impact of our work.

Take a look back at some moments from past expeditions. 💙

⚠ Our next expedition will take place in 2027, and we would love to have you join us! For more information, contact Rachel Austin at [email protected] or Renae Whitehead at [email protected].

Nutrition is an essential part of our Child Centered Network (CCN) model.

More than 2 million meals have been served through our centers over the past two decades.

Every weekday, children receive a healthy hot lunch and a nutritious snack. For many, this is the only hot meal they will receive that day. By removing the barrier of hunger, we help students stay healthy, focused, and ready to learn.
