We are grateful for the work being done for mental health in honour of Mason through the Strikeout Stigma Foundation.

So, we wholeheartedly accepted the offer to partner with the Medicine Hat Mavericks to help grow the Strikeout Stigma Fund in Honour of Mason Close!

Baseball has a way of bringing people together, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to support a cause that means so much to our community.

Proceeds from the 50/50 draw at our June 6 game against the Moose Jaw Miller Express went to the Strikeout Stigma Fund in Honour of Mason Close, helping support mental health initiatives for young athletes in our region.

We’re honoured to play a small part in continuing Mason’s legacy and the important work being done to make mental health support more accessible to young athletes.

The Mavericks look forward to continuing their partnership with CFSEA in the seasons ahead and sincerely appreciate their continued commitment and valuable contributions to our community.

Changes To Lobbying Guidelines and Their Impact on Nonprofits -AFP Webinar With the Lobbying Commissioner of Canada

Charities and nonprofits must adhere to lobbying rules and guidelines whenever they’re working with the government. New guidance introduced earlier this year by the Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying may impact your reporting requirements. If your organization collectively spends eight hours or more in a four-week period applying for federal grants or performing other lobbying activities, they may need to register with the OCL.

On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, from 10-11am MST, join AFP Canada and Nancy Bélanger, the Lobbying Commissioner of Canada, to learn more about the changes and understand your obligations under the Lobbying Act. Participants will have the opportunity to share their questions and comments.
