Our next general meeting is Monday, October 26th, with special guest speaker Jac Theelen, owner of Tulip Farm Red Deer. Jac will be talking about his operations in the flower business, forcing tulips in the winter and growing Hyacinth, Delphiniums, Lilies, Sunflowers and bouquet arrangements for the retail market. Jac and family moved to Alberta from the Netherlands over 15 years ago and we look forward to hearing about his expertise and experience in the commercial flower business in central Alberta. Join us at All Saints Anglican Church, 606-12 Street SW at 7:30pm…everyone welcome!

Can agave grow in Medicine Hat? Sure can! This giant was grown by a local resident, is hardy in zones 5 to 11 and can reach 10 feet!

💡Garden Tip: Are your hosta leaves full of holes by the end of the season? Get a head start on combatting slugs next year by cutting back your hosta's leaves and getting them out of the garden before winter arrives. Slugs like to lay their eggs in the dead leaves, so removing them helps to combat this issue. When the leaves turn yellow or brown this fall, they are ready to be cut back.

Many thanks to all homeowners for accepting recognition in this year’s Best Kept Residence program, with Kathaleen Milan and Ron Neufeld as Residence of the Year. Also, thanks to all judges, the Medicine Hat News for publishing weekly winners, and especially the Kiwanis Club of MH for asking our club to partner with them. Looking forward to 2027!
