Join us for an interactive training that explores the realities of housing insecurity, trauma, substance use, and stigma through a compassionate, person-centered lens. Through real-world scenarios, practical de-escalation techniques, and meaningful discussion, participants will gain tools to respond to challenging situations with confidence, empathy, and respect.

Whether you work in community services, public spaces, healthcare, education, or simply want to strengthen your ability to support others, this training will help you better understand the factors that shape people's experiences and provide actionable strategies to foster dignity, safety, and inclusion.

Participants will leave with practical skills, increased confidence, and a certificate of completion.

Today, June 5, marks HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day - a day to honour the resilience, strength, and contributions of people who have lived longest with HIV.
At SafeLink Alberta, we remain committed to ensuring that long-term survivors are not only remembered for what they endured, but supported in how they continue to live, age, and thrive.

As we prepare our Annual Report and reflect on 2025, we are reminded of the many incredible people we have had the privilege of connecting with through SafeLink Alberta’s programs and services.

We would love to hear from anyone who has accessed our programs or services and would like to share their experience in a way that feels comfortable for them. There is no pressure to share anything beyond what you are comfortable discussing.

We know that sharing personal experiences can feel vulnerable, and we are deeply grateful to anyone who chooses to share their story with us.

Your experiences help us better understand the impact of our work, celebrate our community, and continue advocating for and providing accessible and compassionate services.

You can share your story with us:
By email
Over the phone
Over a Virtual meeting

Or in person at our Calgary office on Tuesday June 9th between 10am and 3pm

If joining us in person, we invite you to come for coffee, snacks, and conversation. To thank you for your time and contribution, we would like to offer $25 honoraria to participants on this day.

If you are interested in participating, would like more information and to book a time, you can send us a DM, or email us at [email protected]

We are excited to share SafeLink Alberta’s graphic novel - a powerful storytelling project that brings real experiences of stigma, resilience, strength, and hope to life through art.

This beautiful project was made possible through funding from the Positive Actions Initiative at REACH Nexus part of the MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, with evaluation support from REACH Nexus and the Centre for Community Based Research.

This graphic novel was created to spark conversations, challenge perceptions, and remind us of the importance of compassion, dignity, and community connection. Every page shares stories that are emotional, honest, and deeply human.

We invite you to read, reflect, and share these powerful stories in community.

Imagine the impact of personal hygiene items – they're not just products; they're essential elements of well-being, cleanliness, and self-care.

Now, envision yourself as the person behind those everyday moments by adopting a monthly commitment.

Your monthly contribution goes beyond just numbers; it's about fostering tangible, immediate positive effects for real individuals in your community. Here's how YOU can make a difference:

♥ Support Personal Wellness: Your contribution could ensure that basic hygiene needs are met, promoting health and dignity for individuals who may otherwise lack access to essential items.

♥ Enable Self-Care: By consistently contributing, you could provide the means for ongoing access to personal care products, empowering individuals to maintain a sense of well-being and confidence.

♥ Strengthen Community Bonds: Forge connections within your community as you stand in solidarity with fellow contributors, collectively impacting the lives of those in need.

Be the change you wish to see – one personal hygiene item, one donation at a time.
