It is with deep sadness that we join our community in mourning the passing of Khalid Usman, a remarkable leader, philanthropist, and dear friend of Oak Valley Health’s Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH).

Khalid was a passionate ambassador for our hospital, bringing people together through meaningful relationships and a shared commitment to local health care. As a former Foundation Board Chair, he was a driving force behind Canadians of Pakistani Origin, helping to inspire this extraordinary collective to raise $2.5 million in support of MSH — an impact we are proud to recognize in our Orthopaedic Joint Assessment Clinic.

Those who knew him will remember far more than his accomplishments. He was larger than life in every sense — a respected community builder whose generosity and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a rare ability to light up a room, making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and connected.

His legacy is reflected in the people he brought together, the spirit of giving he championed, and the countless individuals he inspired to make a difference. We are honoured that MSH’s Baby Wall bearing his family's name will continue to stand as a reminder of his dedication to community and family for future generations.

We are profoundly grateful for his years of service, leadership, and friendship. Our thoughts are with his family, loved ones, and all those whose lives were enriched by knowing him. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.

A meaningful day on the course led to an incredible impact for local health care. ⛳️💙

The RBC Charity Golf Tournament returned for a second year in support of Oak Valley Health’s Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH), raising an incredible $48,000 through the generosity of golfers, sponsors, and community supporters.

We’re grateful to RBC for continuing to invest in the future of care in our community and helping support the patients and families who rely on MSH every day.

On National Golf Day, we’re celebrating everyone who helped make this tournament such a success.

What started as trouble sleeping and difficulty concentrating slowly became overwhelming for Alia Del Bianco.

After years of carrying the weight of personal loss, trauma, and stress while raising her daughter and working long hours, she reached a breaking point and knew she needed help.

“I really spiralled. I went from working 10-12 hours a day to feeling like the future was unknown.”

Alia’s story is a reminder that mental health struggles can affect anyone, and that no one should have to face them alone. 💙

In recognition of Leave a Legacy Month, we were honoured to gather with members of the Latcham Society to celebrate the lasting impact of legacy giving at Oak Valley Health’s Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH). 💙

The event featured Oak Valley Health leadership including a keynote address from Dr. Phil Moran, Chief of Emergency Medicine, who shared insights on MSH's expanding Emergency Department and highlighted the importance of continued investment in high-quality care, close to home. Guests also heard from President & CEO, Mark Fam, who spoke about the hospital’s ongoing progress and its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our community.

Named in honour of Arthur Latcham, whose generous gift of land helped bring the dream of a community hospital to life, the Latcham Society recognizes donors who have chosen to leave a planned gift in support of future patient care.

We are deeply grateful to the donors and families whose generosity will help ensure exceptional care, today and for generations to come.

One decade. Millions of reasons to say thank you!

The Fortune Leadership Council (FLC), a network of local Chinese business leaders, was established in 2016 with a mission to raise awareness and funds in support of Oak Valley Health’s Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH).

Over the past 10 years, FLC has inspired generosity within the local Chinese community while helping fund new equipment, innovative technology, and priority needs across our hospital.

At this year’s annual FLC Networking Lunch, we gathered to celebrate the co-chairs, members, and supporters who continue to champion this important work. Together, FLC has raised an incredible $3.4 million in support of MSH to date, helping shape the future of care in our community.

This Asian Heritage Month, MSH Foundation is proud to recognize FLC and celebrate the lasting difference they continue to make for our hospital and the patients and families we serve.

Thank you to the FLC Co-Chairs — Alan Kwong, David Ho, Gordon Chan, Stephen Li, and Kenny Wan, along with the committee and donors who help keep exceptional care close to home.

The legacy we leave behind can shape the future of our community for generations to come. 💙

As long-time volunteers and supporters of Oak Valley Health’s Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH), Yash and Prem Kapur have chosen to leave a gift in their Will to MSH Foundation.

To the Kapurs, supporting MSH is a natural extension of the way they care for the people around them. By making the decision to give back together, they hope to inspire others to support the hospital and help ensure patients can receive the care they need for years to come.

We are extremely grateful for the Kapur family and their commitment to giving close to home.

If you’ve ever considered the kind of impact you’d like to leave, visit the link at https://bit.ly/3ToBNFj to learn more about legacy giving at MSH.
