Chinook High School is pleased to invite Grades 6- 8 Spanish Bilingual families to an information evening about continuing Spanish Bilingual programming into high school.

📍 Chinook High School – Learning Commons

This evening is designed to support families as they begin thinking about the transition to high school and to share how Spanish Bilingual programming continues at Chinook in Grade 9 y más allá.

During the session, families will learn about:
🇪🇸 The Grade 9 Spanish Bilingual program, including Lengua Española, Ciencias en Español, y Proyectos Especiales
🌎 How Chinook supports long-term language development, cultural learning, and academic rigour
🎓 Opportunities for cultural enrichment and continued credentialing, including DELE
🤝 How students are supported académica y socialmente in a large high school environment

Families will also have the opportunity to ask questions and connect with Chinook administration and Spanish Bilingual teaching staff.

We value the commitment families have made to Spanish Bilingual education over many years and look forward to welcoming you as students prepare for the next stage of their learning journey.

💛 Thank You for an Incredible First Spanish for Beginners Night! 💛

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us for our very first Spanish for Beginners event — with about 25 parents in attendance, we raised $180 for the Spanish Community Fiesta, and the room was full of great energy, learning, and laughs.

A huge thank you to our amazing sponsors:

☕ for tea, coffee, hot chocolate and a generous door prize

Parents from West Coulee Station Elementary School and G.S. Lakie are invited to a one-time Intro to Speaking Spanish class on January 27, from 7:00–8:30 pm at West Coulee Station Elementary School, offering a fun, low-pressure way to learn some practical, everyday Spanish.

West Coulee Principal Dean Hawkins will also be in attendance to learn alongside parents; the class is free with donations welcome in support of the Spanish Bilingual Education Association (SBEA) Community Fiesta. 🎊
