West Coast Human Services operates a community inclusion facility in the West Shore area serving adults with diverse abilities. Please contact us!

The West Coast Program is a community inclusion facility operating in the West Shore and currently serving 15 individuals. Our program offers a host of community-based and skill development orientated programs, offering our participants with diverse and enriching opportunities. Our goal is to aid individuals in developing their skills and abilities in a way that improves quality of life by facilitating their active involvement in both the home and community environment. Program offered at West Coast include baking, cooking, computers, reading and writing, nature hike, supported employment, swimming and many, many more! We believe in life long learning and utilize basic behaviour intervention techniques to facilitate the training and mastery of new skills. Interested in learning more about our program?

🎃 Happy Halloween, everyone! 👻

We had our Halloween party yesterday, and it was a blast! Staff and participants did an amazing job dressing up in their costumes. We enjoyed playing some of our favourite games, including musical chairs, freeze dance, and hot potato, and enjoyed some delicious Halloween treats.

It was a fun-filled day with lots of laughs and Halloween spirit. We hope everyone has a fun Halloween! 🧡

We would like to congratulate out September staff of the month, Alisha!

Alisha is always diligent and focused in her work at West Coast, consistently demonstrating a calm and positive demeanour that is appreciated by both participants and staff.

This semester, Alisha has taken on our baking program, and so far, the treats have been delicious! We can’t wait to see what her and the crew come up with next!

Our staff of the month for August was Danielle!
We are incredibly fortunate to have had Danielle on our team for almost 10 years. She runs our Wednesday hot lunch program, posts weekly news articles on our website, organizes everyone's Thursday Tim Hortons orders, and does so much more behind the scenes.

Danielle, your dedication, reliability, and countless contributions mean so much to all of us. We truly do not know what we would do without you. Thank you for everything you do! 💛

Summer wrap up!!

As we transition into September and the coming Fall, we thought we would take a moment to look back on the fun summer we had! From celebrating birthdays, beach combing, garden harvesting and walking among the flowers, we enjoyed every second of it!

Our July staff of the month is Alec! He joined our team in 2024 and very quickly learned all the ropes and became a vital part of the crew here. With his unmatched enthusiasm and positive energy, both participants and staff love the good vibes he always brings, no matter the task at hand. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication Alec! We appreciate everything you do for the West Coast team.

June was filled with many smiles, laughs and good times! With beach adventures, forests walks and enjoying time on our beautiful patio, we had such a lovely month and start to summer here at West Coast!

✉️ Pen Pals! 💌

Some of us have been taking part in a pen pal program with another day program all the way in Prince Edward Island! The excitement of waiting for replies from our pals has been so much fun, and it’s amazing to see how everyone’s reading and writing skills have grown through this experience. We can’t wait to keep the letters coming!
