Enhancing healthcare in our Annapolis Valley community. Our Foundation works on behalf of you and your family to enhance healthcare at Valley Regional Hospital.

At times we partner with other Foundations and Auxiliaries in the Annapolis Valley to ensure residents have access to the best health care possible by providing up-to-date equipment that supports the services offered through the hospital. Through the generosity of thousands of donors, our Foundation has provided over $16 million to improve health care for residents of Kings and Annapolis Counties.

Beginning with the first campaign to raise $8 million to build Valley Regional Hospital in 1992, funds raised since then have helped purchase equipment to improve regional health services such as diagnositc imaging, cardiac, medical, chemotherapy, orthopaedic, mental health, surgical and maternal & child. The Annapolis Valley Health District provides health care services for approximately 80,000 residents of Kings and Annapolis Counties.

As a team, Valley Regional Hospital Foundation were proud to be able attend the festivities commemorating the 300th anniversary of the signing of the Peace and Friendship Treaty of 1726 at Fort Anne National Historic Site, in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia!
It was beautiful and inspiring day of recognizing the first treaty between Indigenous Peoples and any European state in the region that would become the Canadian Maritimes. It served as the basis for future negotiations and Peace and Friendship Treaties, and laid the foundation for Crown-Indigenous relations in what is now Eastern Canada.

Valley Regional Hospital Foundation staff & Board are wearing red today for Red Shirt Day — a day to bring awareness to accessibility and inclusion in workplaces and community spaces ❤️

Over the last year, the Foundation has been included in the Valley Regional site’s Accessibility Committee to address the opportunities to improve the removal of physical & systemic barriers.

A few projects that we are proud to support have been the Staxi system wheelchairs, bariatric beds, and chairs throughout the hospital. Plus we look forward to sharing an announcement on another project in the works!
