The Friends of the Sanctuary conduct programs at the Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary which has over 8 km of hiking trails, 5 km of cross-country ski trails, canoeing, camping, outdoor learning programs and special events throughout the year.

The Friends would like to recognise the donations of seed by Andrew Harbors of Newington, a local sunflower seed grower and the work of Guy and Karen Desaulniers who bag up the seeds for distribution to children visiting the Sanctuary. These volunteers make a difference to families experiencing nature close up.

A big shout out to all our sponsors & volunteers who came out to make our Kids Nature Zone Day another spectacular event. Thanks to Raisin River, Wild Bird Rescue, WildBirds Unlimited, St. Lawrence Parks, Steve and Katrine (Sweet Amelia Honey), Nicole from SDG Turtles and Guy Desaulniers. Last but not least our wonderful group of FOS volunteers who work tirelessly to provide community events for everyone to enjoy.

Friends of the Sanctuary will have a Bird Song Challenge, buttons for the kids, some merchandise, membership pamphlets and more……………
