We were proud to host economic development leaders from across Ontario this past week at the EDCO 2026 Ontario Big City Leaders Forum in Windsor.
In partnership with the City of Windsor - Municipal Government and Invest WindsorEssex, Caesars Windsor set the stage for two days of meaningful conversations, collaboration, and connection among municipal leaders, industry experts, and changemakers.
From the outset, Windsor provided an inspiring backdrop as we came together to connect, learn, and lead — with a strong focus on the ideas and partnerships shaping the future of our communities.
Day 1 Highlights
We kicked off with a powerful panel on “Strengthening the Core”, exploring Windsor’s collaborative approach to downtown renewal — bringing together leaders from tourism, healthcare, public safety, and local government to share how integrated strategies are driving vibrant, safe, and resilient urban cores.
The conversation continued with insights on regional tourism, highlighting how Windsor-Essex is leveraging its diverse assets — from urban districts to wine country — to attract visitors, investment, and talent.
Attendees then experienced the region firsthand with a waterfront tour to the Gordie Howe International Bridge, showcasing critical infrastructure, logistics, and cross-border opportunities shaping Ontario’s economic future. This unique experience was proudly presented by Invest WindsorEssex and Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island (TWEPI).
We closed the day with a fantastic networking reception at Cucina 360, where colleagues from across the province connected, shared ideas, and strengthened relationships.
Day 2 Highlights
Day two began with a timely discussion on housing solutions, focused on practical, place-based strategies and the importance of partnerships in addressing growing demand across communities.
We then explored investment attraction and innovation through Windsor’s leadership in electric vehicle manufacturing and the evolving energy supply chain — demonstrating how strategic FDI is transforming local economies and creating new opportunities across Ontario.
The forum wrapped with a unique guided tour of Hiram Walker & Sons, blending heritage and innovation while showcasing the region’s rich history and its role in tourism and economic development.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the energy, ideas, and collaboration that made this year’s forum so impactful.
And a special thank you to our speakers, attendees and our partners, the City of Windsor and Invest WindsorEssex, for helping bring this event to life and showcasing the innovation driving their region forward.
We're looking forward to next year's Big City Event.
