🎆 The wait is over! 🎆

After Mother Nature had other plans for our Canada Day fireworks, we're excited to share that the fireworks display has been rescheduled for Saturday, August 29!

We've been working behind the scenes to replace damaged fireworks, coordinate schedules, and bring all the pieces together. We know many residents have been eagerly awaiting a new date, and we sincerely appreciate your patience while we made it happen.

Mark your calendars and get ready for a spectacular night in South Stormont! 🎇 More details, including the start time at dusk, will be shared as we get closer to the event.

Our Canada Day festivities (including this rescheduled fireworks display) are made possible by the countless volunteers of our community as well as the funding support of the Government of Canada. 🎆 We know you're excited. Trust us, we are too!

Since the Canada Day fireworks display was postponed due to the recent storm, we've been working behind the scenes with our pyro technician, Township staff, and local firefighters to find a new date that works for everyone involved.

We don't have a date to share just yet, but the planning is underway and we'll announce the rescheduled fireworks display as soon as arrangements are finalized.

Thank you for your patience and enthusiasm. We can't wait to light up the sky with you soon! 🎇

Safety always is the priority, the technicians have made the decision it is not safe to proceed.

Long Sault Canada Day Fireworks Postponed:

Due to inclement weather and subsequent flooding of equipment, pyro technicians have made the decision that the fireworks display scheduled for July 1st in Long Sault have been postponed until a date to be determined.
We apologize for the inconvenience, we hope that everyone is safe. More updates about rescheduled fireworks will be provided at a later date.

🚫💧Please be advised that the water will be shut off at the following locations starting at 7:00pm for an unscheduled watermain repair. It is anticipated the water will be restored at approximately 12:00am.

🔵Colonial Drive from 15007 Colonial Drive to the intersection of Colonial Drive and County Road 2.
🔵County Road 2 from the intersection of County Road 2 and Colonial Drive to the intersection of County Road 2 and Wales Drive.
🔵Wales Drive from the intersection of Wales Drive and County Road 2 to the intersection of Wales Drive and Santa Cruz Drive.

❄️ Freezing Rain Storm Preparedness – Township of South Stormont ❄️

Environment conditions indicate freezing rain may impact our area. Residents are encouraged to take steps now to stay safe and prepared:

✔️ Avoid unnecessary travel and allow extra time if you must be on the roads
✔️ Keep a 72-hour emergency kit ready (flashlight, batteries, food, water, medications)
✔️ Charge phones and devices in case of power outages
✔️ Secure outdoor items and be cautious of falling branches or ice buildup
✔️ Check on elderly neighbours, family members, and those who may need assistance
✔️ If using generators or alternate heat sources, ensure proper ventilation

Infrastructure Services is monitoring conditions and will respond as required.
