The heart of the Matochos Sewing Program is perfectly captured in the life of Maria-Flores, the director of this program. Her journey is one of incredible resilience; orphaned at 16 and tasked with raising four siblings, she started working as a cook at the Matochos after school center. The community supported Maria-Flores to finish middle school and continue her education. After many long journeys to Chilapa, the nearest town (six kilometers walking to the nearest bus stop) she completed her education, eventually working her way up to lead the after-school center.

“We explored a simple but profound question,” shared Mario Matos, EduDeo’s International Partnership Director. “What does leadership look like when it reflects the character of Jesus?”

Chitipa, the town the Kapoka Secondary School is located, is very rural which means this school can offer opportunities to students who otherwise would have none. Our partner in Malawi is responsible for 60% of education in Northern Malawi and good exam results in science would help them to continue to expand opportunities for students.

We've been receiving your "Bricks of Blessing" and can't wait to pass them on to our partners in Malawi at the Kapoka Secondary School.

There's still time for you to write a note of encouragement on your 'brick' and mail it to us!

The brick campaign is helping to build a science lab so students can receive a full and well-rounded Christ-centred education.

Each brick costs just $3. Would you consider helping build the lab by “sending a brick”?

One recent Co-Impact team's mission was to begin construction on a new three-unit preschool block at Kpogede Community School in Ghana. Currently, young students lack child-friendly facilities, which leads to overcrowding making it difficult to teach. The new block will provide a safe, structurally sound, and conducive environment for holistic, Christ-centred education.

For many Dominico-Haitian children, education can be out of reach.

Though their families came to the Dominican Republic from Haiti seeking work and a better life, challenges like overcrowded schools, discrimination, material poverty, language barriers, and lack of government support often prevent them from accessing education.

Yet every child deserves the chance to go to school. That’s where the vision of a lakou comes in.

In Dominico-Haitian culture, a lakou is more than a courtyard. It’s a place of connection, community, and hope. A space where neighbours and families come together to share life.

We need your help to create a new lakou: classrooms where children can learn, belong, and flourish.
