This event is for medical lab educators who want to connect with peers from across the country and learn from their teaching experiences. It will help you discover tools and learn actionable ideas to improve your practice.

Our first session will be led by Tammie Hardie, BA, MLT/RT, CAE, current Simulation Coordinator supporting Lab and Allied Health Programs in the School of Health at BCIT.
Considering the evolving demands of the health care environment and the persistent need for communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, this session will explore how AI tools and Virtual Simulation can help prepare students to meet these competencies without further overwhelming educators.

The Cellfie Project, an initiative from Dr. David Conrad and the division of pediatric hematology/oncology at IWK Health in Halifax, NS, invites pediatric leukemia patients to the lab to help them understand what's happening in their bodies.

Over 40 children have participated, and medical lab professionals have helped patients and their families understand their diagnoses.

Dr. David Conrad, and MLTs Kim Ingalls, Amy Power and Scott Richard talked about this project with CSMLS Communications Associate, Juliana Pico, for the Spring Journal.
