PART 1 When the lion tells the story: A conversation with the elders who founded the Acca in 1979. They lived it. Then they built through it. 🧡

In this video, early Caribbean immigrants and a Black Canadian sit down and talk honestly about life used to be in Hamilton—the discrimination they faced, the doors that were closed, the weight of being made to feel unwelcome.

But they didn't just survive. They created.

In 1979, the Afro Canadian Caribbean Association became their answer—a key institution for Black immigrants settling in Hamilton. A place to belong.

(And btw, they eventually acquired their own building. A milestone, yes. But not the main story.)

The main story is the programs—the real work that has held this community together for over 45 years:

👵🏾 Seniors
🧒🏾 Youth
👨🏾‍👩🏾‍👧🏾 Families

Supported. Lifted. Loved. Every single day.

This video is history from the mouths of those who lived it. And it's a call to keep the future growing.

Now we step up.

🙏🏾 Donate
💪🏾 Volunteer
🌱 Keep it growing

🎥 Watch. Listen. Then act.
