A.P.A.N.O. Aboriginal Peoples Alliance (Northern Ontario) APANO believes in the individual's rights to be a part of Creation and that Creation is to be shared.

We come together to strengthen each other, sharing traditional and spiritual values. As Aboriginal people we recognize that we have a place in Canada. APANO offers programs that support the spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical growth of the Indigenous community and promotes healthy strategies that respond to the needs of Indigenous, non Indigenous, Métis and Inuit people living in critical areas where health outreach services are most needed.

⚠️ We continue to see thefts from vehicles across Greater Sudbury, and the vast majority of these incidents involve no forced entry. Thieves are walking through neighbourhoods, parking lots, and garages checking for unlocked doors and scanning for valuables left in plain sight.

Leaving any property in your vehicle puts it at risk. If you leave items behind, they may not be there when you return. Thieves will break into a vehicle for something as small as a few coins or a lighter. Commonly stolen items include purses, wallets, credit cards, GPS units, passports, house keys, cash, clothing, and sunglasses.

If you absolutely must leave belongings in your vehicle, secure them in the trunk, out of sight. Many thieves routinely check the glove box, centre console, and under seats for hidden items, so these spots are not safe storage.

🔒 Protect Your Property:
- Always lock your vehicle - even when parked in your driveway or garage
- Remove all valuables from sight
- If you must leave items behind, lock them in the trunk, out of sight
- Park in well‑lit, high‑visibility areas
- Consider using anti‑theft devices
- At home, keep your garage locked with your vehicle locked inside, if you have one
- Avoid leaving keys, garage door openers, or identification documents in your vehicle

📝 Report All Incidents - Even If Nothing Was Taken

Whether items were stolen or someone simply entered your unlocked vehicle, please file an online report. These reports help officers identify hot spots, patterns, and times of activity, allowing for more effective targeted patrols.
