À l'approche des élections municipales, la Place des Arts est fière de soutenir la campagne « VOTONS pour les ARTS! » du Regroupement des organismes culturels de Sudbury (ROCS) — nos 7 organismes cofondateurs — pour porter un message essentiel pour les arts.

La culture n'est pas qu'un divertissement. C'est un moteur économique de 205 millions de dollars, 1 700 emplois locaux et le cœur battant de la revitalisation de notre centre-ville.

As the municipal elections approach, Place des Arts is proud to support this campaign "VOTE for the ARTS!" by the Regroupement des organismes culturels de Sudbury (ROCS)—our 7 co-founders—to deliver an essential message for the Arts.

The arts are more than just entertainment. They are a $205 million economic engine, 1,700 local jobs, and the beating heart of our downtown's revitalization.

Sudbury performing arts folks — we’re coming to hear from you!

Burro’d Theatre will be in Sudbury on September 24 for an open Town Hall at the Sudbury Theatre Centre.

We’re researching a potential new model for affordable, artist-led performing arts venues, and we want to understand what artists and arts organizations in Sudbury actually need.

To be clear; this is research and consultation only. We are not announcing a venue in Sudbury, and there is no promise or guarantee that one will be created here. We're exploring what different communities need, where any gaps are, and whwther this model could eventually be useful.

At this stage, we’re coming to listen.

If you’re a performer, producer, theatre-maker, musician, dancer, presenter, arts worker, or someone invested in Sudbury’s cultural community, your perspective would be incredibly valuable.

And we would appreciate your help spreading the word - please share this post with anyone you think could be interested!

Congrats to our festival Translation Lead and friend Alex Tétreault and his new role at Le Salon du livre du Grand Sudbury💪

Le Salon du livre du Grand Sudbury est heureux d’annoncer la nomination d’Alex Tétreault à titre de nouveau directeur général et artistique.

Fort d’une expérience en gestion culturelle, direction artistique, gouvernance et engagement communautaire, Alex Tétreault mettra son expertise au service du développement et du rayonnement du Salon.

Cette nomination ouvre un nouveau chapitre pour le SLGS, qui poursuit sa mission de célébrer la littérature, de soutenir les autrices et auteurs et de créer des espaces de rencontres pour les lecteurs et lectrices de tous les âges.

Le SLGS remercie également Geneviève LeBlanc pour son dévouement et sa contribution au cours de ses années à la direction.

This festival is organized by We Live Up Here, a volunteer-run non-profit organization dedicated to building a better community through art. We Live Up Here has deployed the DDP Indigenous Communications Toolkit (ICT) for their staff and board members.
