Youth Connections The Mountain Metis Youth Connections aims to enhance community youth development by providing tutorial services & recreational & cultural youth activities.

Hosted by the Mountain Metis Nation Association, the Youth Connections (formerly called the Homework Connection Program) has partnered with local schools to achieve program objectives by providing Grande Cache youth, ages 10 and up, with the following services:
~ During and after school tutorial services for youth requiring extra support and encouragement.
~ After school programming providing youth access to computers, libraries, recreational activities, homework help, and job and employment skills development.
~ Assistance with post-secondary planning and funding applications.
~ Friday afternoon programming for short school days such as cultural activities, workshops, and life skills development.
~ Recreational activities that include swimming, skating, and holiday events.
~ Transportation support.
~ Annual summer camps. Every year has been successful for Youth Connections and depending on partners and sponsors different opportunities may be available to participating youth each year.

Mountain Kids & Horses is coming this fall!

The Willmore Wilderness Foundation is proud to work with Mountain Metis Youth Connections to offer a beginners eight-week horsemanship program from October 24 to December 12, 2026.

Youth between the age 7-17 will build confidence and learn about horse care, grooming, haltering, groundwork, building trust and basic trail riding skills.

Spaces are limited and filling quickly. Spots are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. For information phone Susan Feddema-Leonard at 1-780-827-6314.

Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow is our Nutrition Program delivery day!

Coolers have now been delivered to each participating household. Please ensure your cooler is placed outside in a visible and easily accessible location for delivery.

Having your cooler ready will help our team complete deliveries efficiently while also ensuring food is kept safe and protected from animals and changing weather conditions.

Today marks the final day of our current Nutrition Program.🥦🍎

Applications for the next Nutrition Program will be available in September. As part of our upcoming program, we will also be providing coolers to participating families to support safe and secure food storage, helping keep food protected from weather and animals.
