What is the Chamber Reel?

The Chamber Reel is the Exploits Chamber of Commerce’s member newsletter. It is the chambers main way of keeping its members updated with chamber, chamber member, and regional information. This includes recent chamber news, active projects, member programs, and member highlights among other things.

The Exploits Chamber of Commerce made a donation today to the South and Central Health Foundation in memory of Wendy Houlihan, the Foundation's former Executive Director, who passed away recently. Wendy was set to join the Chamber's Board of Directors.

Making the presentation is Chamber Executive Director Gary Hennessey to Jenna Budgell, Community Development Officer with the Foundation.

On September 15, 2026, the Canadian Mental Health Association – Newfoundland and Labrador Association will be hosting its Annual General Meeting. During this meeting, we will be presenting a number of awards. Amongst these awards is the Workplace Excellence Award.

If you are aware of a workplace that demonstrates a strong commitment to workplace mental health in Newfoundland and Labrador, please share this information.

The information regarding the Workplace Excellence award is as follows:

This award recognizes an outstanding organization that has demonstrated a meaningful and sustained commitment to workplace mental health in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Eligible recipients will have implemented policies, programs, practices, or cultural initiatives that promote employee well-being, reduce stigma, foster psychological safety, and create a more inclusive and supportive workplace.
