A great opportunity for those living in Golden and the Kootenays. Creative BC's Creative Pathways™ bursary can help cover the cost of completing the Motion Picture Industry Orientation Program (MPIO), an important first step toward a Below-the-Line career in film.

Applications are open until September 30, 2026, or until bursaries are fully allocated.

Creative Pathways™ at Creative BC is offering bursaries to support individuals living outside the Lower Mainland in completing the Motion Picture Industry Orientation Program (MPIO) - a foundational requirement for joining many of British Columbia's motion picture unions and guilds.

The MPIO provides essential industry knowledge and practical training for those pursuing below-the-line careers in film and television, helping participants strengthen their eligibility for future union membership and employment on signatory productions.

🌟Exciting new project coming to Golden and Area A to build a better understanding of workforce challenges in rural areas. 🌟

Tourism Golden, the Town of Golden, CSRD Area A, Golden CED, and the Golden Chamber of Commerce have partnered with Tourism HR Canada to conduct research in the Golden area.

To get a complete picture of the labor and liveability landscape, the research team is looking to connect with a broad range of community members, including:

· Job-seekers and employees

· Local businesses and support agencies

· Community organizations and leaders

· Anyone who can share insights into local challenges

The research will be conducted through surveys, interviews, and focus groups. Keep an eye out for updates on our website and social media regarding when the research team will be in town. Your insights and experiences are essential to this project’s success.
