This Friday, join us at the Art Gallery of Golden for the opening reception of The Rare & The Ancient: Defending Golden's Threatened Rainforest. 🌲

This exhibit features over 20 local artists who speak for the forest in this collaborative, educational art display celebrating the Inland Temperate Rainforest. 🫎🍄‍🟫🌨️

Talk with the artists, dine on wine and cheese. We'll see you there on August 14, at 5 PM.

Our BioBlitz is open until Sunday 9th so there's still plenty of time to get out there and inventory some of the life around Reflection Lake. All you need is a smartphone 📱

What’s flowering in Golden?

Spotted Knapweed is a biennial or short-lived perennial herb that spreads by seeds, forming dense stands in open habitats. It can quickly dominate large areas. In situ, Spotted Knapweed appears as scattered or dense patches of purple-flowered plants in open, dry areas. Spotted Knapweed is highly invasive in grasslands and disturbed areas, where it forms dense monocultures that displace native species. Spotted Knapweed is seen throughout the Town of Golden along roadways and in ditches.

Want to make an impact? Wildsight Golden is hosting a Community W**d Pull tomorrow evening, Thursday August 6th from 5-7pm, to remove invasives such as Spotted Knapweed. All ages and abilities are welcome! As a thank you for donating your time and efforts, we’re offering burritos from Reposados to finish the evening!

As a Thank You to all participating community members, we'll finish the evening with delicious Reposados burritos provided by Wildsight Golden!
