Join us for a small flock poultry euthanasia training event in Gibsons, BC, on October 24, 2026! More dates and details can be found at the link below. This session is being held following a poultry health and management workshop, presented in partnership with the Sunshine Coast Farmers’ Institute.

Opportunity to join a fitness program designed by 2 local RMT's specifically for farmers and folks doing physical labour! This program is in development and we need to know who is interested! The Farmers Institute is excited to offer a subsidy to our members who register.

Basic details
- mid-November to end of March
- 2 in-person workouts and 1 virtual mobility session per week (attendance not mandatory)
- $120 per person per month (financial commitment to full length of program)
- minimum of 12 folks to run program, space for up to 20

🚜 Have thoughts on BC’s proposed ALR food processing rules? Time is running out to share them.
The BC Ministry of Agriculture and Food has proposed changes to allow more food processing on Class 5–7 (and some Class 4) land within the Agricultural Land Reserve — land generally considered less suited to primary farming. The stated goal is to strengthen food security, support farmers, and attract investment, while keeping the current 50% local-ingredient rule in place everywhere else in the ALR.

We are so grateful to Salish Soils for generously offering our members a tour of their facility. Join us if you’ve always wanted to know how your local compost is made!

Event details:
- Parking on-site is limited so please park in the pull outs on the road just by the entrance, and meet by the office.
- Recommended to wear gumboots or something you don't mind getting dirty
