💚 Exciting News, Galiano! 💚

We’re happy to share that we’ve had enough interest to start a Girl Guides unit right here on the island!

We’re looking forward to creating a fun space for girls to get together, make friends, try new things, and be part of something in our community.

Meetings will be held at the Galiano Activity Centre, with dates and times still to be confirmed with input from parents and caregivers. Right now, we’re thinking every other Saturday from 2:30-4:00 PM.

If you’re interested or would like more information, please reach out to us at:

Please feel free to share with other Galiano families who might be interested. We’re excited to see where this goes and grateful for the interest and support from our little island community! 💚

🌟 Introducing the Galiano Activity Centre Youth Opportunity Bursary! 🌟

We’re excited to help Galiano youth pursue activities they’re passionate about when island living makes participation more challenging and expensive.

This bursary supports youth in grades 8 -12 in high-commitment activities requiring regular off-island travel including sports, arts, music, STEM, leadership, environmental programs and other specialized activities.

High-commitment can include competitive or advanced programs, regular training, performances, tournaments, auditions, specialized instruction and other activities requiring a significant commitment.
Younger youth who meet the same criteria may also be considered case-by-case.

Household income under $80,000: up to $400/year
Household income $80,000+: up to $250/year

Funding is currently limited as we launch this new program. Bursary allocation will depend on available funds and the number of applications received. We’ll be fundraising to grow the fund and support more youth in the future!

Families can also apply for our existing Youth Bursary.
Applications are now open!

Fill out the Google Form below to tell us about your activity, commitment, travel and costs.
