Galiano Activity Centre

Galiano Activity Centre The Activity Centre is the gym, kitchen and meeting room portion of the Galiano Community School.

We offer sports and activities for adults and children through out the year and run a children's summer program in July and August. This community resource is made possible by financial support from the Galiano Parks and Recreation Commission, user fees and through donations and grants. STILL LOOKING FOR ONE MORE SUMMER WORKER!
If you know anyone who meets the criteria, please let them know we are looking and hoping to hire soon :)

The position is for 8 weeks during the summer (largely July and August) and is perfect for anyone who has worked with kids previously, or for anyone looking to branch into youth programming.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! READ BELOW FOR MORE INFO.
We have 3 awesome youth programming opportunities, all in need of 1 additional volunteer in order to keep/start running. We are looking for individuals interested in volunteering with middle school and high school aged youth for these 3 programs.

Youth Volleyball needs one more volunteer before we can start! Any skill level is totally fine, just come with an interest in learning and supporting the teens. Our other volunteer knows volleyball well!

Nerd Club has been successfully running for a while now. We are looking for an additional adult to provide supervision and continuity. A little interest in nerdy things is encouraged.

Teen Nights are new to us (with one under our belt this year). We are looking for volunteers who are interested in providing a safe, fun environment for teens to connect on the island.

ADDITIONAL PICKLEBALL TIMES THIS WEEK AND NEXT!
For Spring Break (Mar. 15 - Mar. 28), Pickleball has added two additional times each week! The new times are Monday 3-5 PM (which leads directly into the regular 5:15 session) and Friday at 10:00-11:45 AM.

If you're new to Pickleball, we recommend attending the Sunday morning session to learn.
