70 gently used and new shoes have been collected and donated to the Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement Food Pantry and Donation Centre.

Join us as we stand in remembrance, reflection, and solidarity with Indigenous children who attended residential schools, and their families who carry their legacy.

Bring gently used shoes to display on the steps of City Hall, Fort Sask on September 30th between 4-7pm to be a part of the display underneath the Survivor's Flag.

Shoes will be donated once the display is concluded.

Recognize the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples for National Indigenous Peoples Day in Fort Sask! This Indigenous-led, family friendly event is free and will be held in Legacy Park on June 21 from 11 am-2 pm.

Join us on Thursday May 15 2025 at 10:00 AM at the West River's Edge Pavilion to show your support and help make a difference. Let's come together as a community to raise awareness and take a stand against gender-based violence. Lace up your shoes, bring your friends and family, and let's walk towards a safer and more inclusive future for all.

Everyone is welcome – people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds are invited to take part in this day of reflection, action, and solidarity.

What to Expect:
Rain or Shine Event – Come prepared to participate, no matter the weather!
1km Walk to End Violence – A short, symbolic walk for those who wish to join in solidarity and are able to participate.
Indigenous Drummers, Singers, and Dancers – Experience powerful cultural performances.
Fast Break Meal Provided – Nourishing meal to break the fast, prepared with care.
The History of the Moose Hide Campaign – Learn about its significance in the movement to end gender-based violence.
Indigenous Craft – Explore and appreciate the artistry of Indigenous crafts (for those who can't walk).

On May 5th, we welcome Dan Martel – Co-Founder of Aboriginal Alert to speak about why he dedicates his time to this cause.

Dan Martel is the Co-Founder of Aboriginal Alert, an Indigenous-led nonprofit dedicated to helping families find missing loved ones and addressing the crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, Men, and Boys (MMIWGMB) in Canada. Under Dan’s leadership, Aboriginal Alert has issued over 4,000 alerts, launched the Compassion Circle Campaign, and developed vital tools including an email alerting system, an auto poster generator, and a missing person tracking system accessible to all Canadians.

Committed to compassion, community-led solutions, and systemic change, Dan has helped position Aboriginal Alert as a vital bridge between Indigenous families and the broader Canadian public. His work is driven by a deep respect for Indigenous rights, resilience, and self-determination, ensuring that missing Indigenous people are never forgotten.
